I went with two friends for margaritas and maybe some appetizers or nachos. We showed up and sat at the bar. We were told to sit... at seats with dirty plates and the last peoples food was there. It was never cleaned, just cleared. I ordered a frozen margaritaand it was awful. 1/3 drinks were good. We found rotten looking mint in one drink. We didn?t even order food because it took10-15 minutes to just order our drinks. One man was working the entire bar and waiters were standing around not assisting at thebar or even the tables. He was clearly overworked and trying his best (no fault to him). We would not go back due to the lack ofquality drinks, poor service and overall just a sad place to visit. Read more

Fantastic food! After reading the reviews, I was worried, but we went for it, and it was delicious! My cousin had the carnitas... and smoked brisket street tacos and raved about them, I had the tacos Del Mar, which were super fresh, and my nephew had thekid?s quesadilla which was a very generous portion. The margaritas were super yummy and the house-made syrups were spot-on.Overall, quite good-I?ll be back! Read more

After reading the reviews it was an iffy choice but we decided why not? Well boy I am so happy we tried Southside Cantina out! ... Not only was the food awesome but our waitress, Jane was great too! Being her first day she was knowledgeable and confident andeven gave us recommendations. We had the quesadilla for 2 but also order a brisket street taco. The quesadilla was so good andthe street taco was incredible, the brisket - WOW!! Seriously try it out yourself you will not be sorry. Read more

Food was amazing! Could tell everything was made from scratch. Turn off was that the drinks were served in flimsy plastic cups.... Ceiling fans are powerful, so bring an extra layer! Read more

No Mexican atmosphere inside, it felt more like just a bar. You get chips when you sit down. I ordered a burrito and also got... chips for my side, how many chips can I eat!? Something else say like beans, rice, veggies or another option for a side would benice. The burrito was ok. Read more

These are not your mom's tacos. Forget the Ortega hard shell, ground beef, lettuce and sauce out of a ketchup packet. At the... Southside Cantina you have the opportunity to experience a real "street" taco. Co-owner Tony Pons has spent at least two yearstinkering with his tortilla recipe, starting with whole corn imported from Mexico. The result is the perfect platform for asuperbly-crafted taco. Beef brisket and carnitas (pork shoulder) are slow-smoked on premises. Three cheeses, melted and fresh. Smoked tomatoes in the cool salsa. Herbaceous cilantro leaves and a fresh mini-lime wedge for zing. The atmosphere is casualand lo-fi, but the food is high-end - as are the myriad of top-shelf tequilas and mezcals on display at the bar. Perfect spotfor a beer and snack after hanging at the beach. Can't wait to go back... Read more

The food is amazing, honestly. The prices seem a little steep at $6.95 for a single taco, but man are they delicious. My only... complaint about the food is that they really need two soft corn tortillas served with each taco, instead of one. Corn tortillasjust buckle under too much moisture, so you have just a few minutes to eat the taco before they disintegrate. There isn't thesame flexibility with corn as there is with flour. I had the pork carnita street tacos. My boyfriend had the carne asada housetacos, and he said they are some of the best tacos he's ever had. Definitely worth a visit! Read more
