So I have been coming to Cape Cod for a lot of my 61 year life and probably for the last 25 years would visit the Ocean House... for dinner without any complaints. Both dinner and the atmosphere was wonderful. This all changed tonight due to one person whoclaimed was one of the owners. As is customary my wife and I arrived before 4:00 which is when they open to get two seats atthe bar. Unbeknownst to us they changed their policy to reservations only, even at the bar, with a 2 hour limit. There was anopening at the bar so we took the seats. We had drinks, appetizers, salad, and dinners. We ordered desert and our final drink atabout 5:50. At about 6:05 one of the “owners” came up to us and told us our 2 hour limit was up despite empty high topsaround the bar and open bar seats. We were told we could take dessert to go or cancel it. The couple sitting next to us whom wewere talking with most of the evening were flabbergasted about what transpired. I cashed out and paid the bill. Upon exiting Iapproached the “owner” and told her after coming here for 25 years I never felt so disrespected and she screams at me sayingI’m never welcome there again!! Are you kidding me!! The Ocean House was Excellent as always. My Favorite Restaurant. The Lobster Ravioli was Great. I would recommend The Ocean... House.i am fortunate enough to get to the Ocean House 3 times per season. Each time I go it is better. Professional Staff, clean ,not as noisey this year, no entertainment at 6PM in the restaurant. Celebrated our 40th anniversary with impeccable service by our server Heidi, scrumptious courses including delicious appetizers,... Chilean Sea Bass, a Greek salad with chicken & we especially enjoyed the strawberry shortcake for dessert!!! Cheers to the Chefand his staff!! Incredible views and delicious foods. Make a reservation or get there early. Best fish and chips we had on cape, great... cocktails, good service. We ordered some chorizo clams and they were amazing. Of course they had raw and cooked oysters too. Thesunset views here were the best we had on the cape, with beautiful windows and clear ocean views. Read more
Amazing place to go for the second time!! Great service, No complaints! My cheese burger was toasted and Perfect, alongside the... burger the French fries were great and crunchy! Water was room temperature and good. The Strawberry short cake was amazing10/10! Read more
The location is breathtaking. It is the real Cape Cod wibe here for sure. We spent an afternoon here. They offer gluten free... food as well as regular seafood and bar food. The bartenders are super fun. They make the cocktail dinks super fancy withflowers and mermaids and chocolate. It is unbelievable how hard they have to work. You don’t realize until you sit next to thebar. Two couples got engaged on the beach. Their families were up by the bar watching what was happening. After 5pm a live bandstarted to play. My family and I ate dinner at the Ocean House Restaurant in September and it was delicious! Not all fine dining really lives up... to its name, but this restaurant absolutely does. Everything was excellent, from the service to the atmosphere to the foodquality. All of the courses were unique, high quality, and delicious. It's a good problem to have when you can't decide what toorder because it all sounds good (especially the dessert menu!). We ordered the molten chocolate cake and it was perfect andexquisitely presented. Portions were also large, even for my insatiable family, so we all left with sizeable leftovers. And ourserver, James, was great: attentive, funny, and gave helpful recommendations. Overall, it was a great experience and we willdefinitely be coming back. Read more
