This was a fabulous experience from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Food was amazing and the service was... excellent. The drinks were creative and very high end well made cocktails. We left the other upscale restaurant a few blocksaway on the other side of the square prior to even giving our drink order. It was my girlfriends birthday and we wanted aspecial experience. We didn't have reservations so we sat at the bar as we usually do in most restaurants, she was extremelyhappy with Queenie's as well. We never mentioned the B-day so not to draw any fake attention. That was not the case here,everyone was genuine and caring and out going, catering to our every need. The bartender was the best part of our experience,she was nice and knowledgeable of all aspects of the menu and an exquisite mixologist. Thank you "Bet" you are an asset. I haveformerly been in the industry and in fine dining over 15yrs. But since COVID its been a challenge to find any sincerity in theindustry. Tim you guys nailed it at this location. Thank you. Great atmosphere, great service. The food is delicious and well prepared. Our only complaint was the pricing seemed a bit high... for what we got compared to other high end steakhouses. Definitely worth a trip or two though! Read more
I went on a double date here last Saturday. We’re from out of town and had never been before. The host was wonderful at making... sure we had a table inside even though the reservation app only let us choose outside. Grace, our server, was one of the nicestand most bubbly servers I’ve had. She was wonderful at giving recommendations for the food as well as things for us to doafter dinner. The smoked old fashioned and other craft cocktails were phenomenal and the ribeye was cooked perfectly as well. Wewill be back again. Read more
We order couple of steaks, mine medium rare hers medium. They came out the opposite. Kind of disappointed but still good. Mac... and cheese no flavor and dry. They took it back and replaced with something else it was ok. We tried the fried quail legs theywere great. Menu listed quail @ $13 we got charged $26 I dunno. Not great but also not bad. Went for our anniversary dinner and had a great experience! Waiter was patient and explained things and answered all our... questions. We ordered drinks, a few different appetizers, one entree each, and shared a side (sides are pretty big) and dessert.My favorite was the grilled oyster appetizer - the Serrano lime butter sauce was amazing and the Serrano pepper gave it a nicekick while still being light and refreshingly tasty. The entrees were good too, meat cooked perfectly. Definitely a place for anice long sit down meal - took us a couple hours to get through all the courses. Perfect if you are looking for a dinnerexperience and want to enjoy a relaxing night out. Only complaint is that because the restaurant is in some kind of congestedwarehouse, sound carries a lot and makes it a pretty noisy dining environment, not what you’d expect from a high endsteakhouse. Not the place to go if you want a quite, private feeling ambience. But the great service and delicious food made itworth it. And especially since there aren’t many nice places to eat out in the college town area, this place was a funtreat???? Definitely recommend! And plan to go there again for another celebration day. Where do I start.... this is actually a very late post but here goes... My husband and I celebrated our anniversary 4/20/21 our... plans fell through so we decided to support a local business in my hometown of Denton Texas.. Before our arrival I read a fewreviews and they seemed to be fair so we got dressed up to go. We made reservations prior to our arrival seeing how this wasrated a 4 star restaurant in the area. I honestly feel as though we were not received well because we were people of color and Igot the vibe and that they don’t get a ton of multicultural customers. We walked up to the counter and stated we hadreservations and immediately the phone rang and the hostess put her hand up in our faces and told us to hold on???? it was veryrude and unprofessional... after she took the call she told us to go wait at the bar until they got a table ready (we madereservations and told her first) then she looked at her list and said oh wait y’all are the McNeil party ( with shock on herface) she says my bad your table is ready ???? so they seat us all the way in the back near the kitchen!!! My husband’s chairwas basically up against the fridge.. so finally our waitress walks up and we asked for the best bottle of wine they had(whichshe had no clue about the wine she suggested) she literally was reading the back of the wine at the table ( I assumed by thisbeing rated 4stars they were knowledgeable about the wine list and what best to pair it with). My husband has a culinary artsdegree and owned and ran restaurants in Florida so he was shocked by the service. We started out with appetizers oysters and therabbit rattlesnake sausage (which came out cold ????but good flavor) then we ordered our second course which was the tomatobasil soup ( delicious) then our main course.. So, my wife and I were middle of the ground on Queenies. We felt like the quality for the price didn’t match up. They did a... good job with spices but I’ve had a similar steak at a lower quality establishment. The Trout was tasty but the “grilled”oysters were baked. I do have to say the drinks were also good, I’d suggest going for a cocktail or two, but as for eatingout we will be putting this place lower on our choice list. Read more
Wow! I have heard about this place but decided to book a reservation for my boyfriends birthday and I was so impressed. The... drinks were amazing and service was even better.
