I was really looking forward to trying this place and was disappointed, unfortunately. The building and decor are nice but the... lack of food options, small portions and high prices are a turn off. The menu is 90% drinks, which are quite expensive. $15 fora small martini and an extra dollar for blue cheese olive, of which you get one sad olive from a jar. For an extra fee, you’dthink they’d make those in house fresh. They were also out of a couple of already scarce food options. The ravioli was verytasty, but was extremely small in portion size, and at $27 I was expecting a decent size meal. This was more of an appetizer. The pizza was good, albeit a little soggy. It’s the best value item if you go, as the portion is a better value. I really hopemanagement reworks their menu to include more, better value options for food. I likely won’t go back unless I see they’verestructured their menu. I do have to acknowledge that the service was good, so good job there. But, sadly, I left hungry andout of $100. Read more

This place is awesome! Such a hidden gem in a city full of Italian. The horseradish gnocchi is out of this world genius.... Carbonara pizza was insane with the perfect crust. Every drink and bite of dessert was worth the splurge. Not only is this a newregular for me, I’ll be bringing any visitors by for a special meal. Read more

Quaint, modern and trendy Italian restaurant. However, I would call this an Italian pizza place, or even just a nice pizza... place. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good wood fire pizza. Wasn’t 5 stat wowed with it but a solid 4 star and wouldn’tbe upset to come back. Read more

Phenomenal and unexpected culinary experience at Benzina. A very simple menu allows this restaurant to focus on high quality... output. We were a family of five and tried several pizzas and appetizer and EVERYTHING was delicious. Their Trout Caesar saladwas extraordinary -the lettuce was fresh and crunchy. The wild mushroom pizza deserves its own write up! We were celebrating myhusband birthday and we had a lovely time. The staff was attentive, service was fast and food was insanely good. I will be backmany times!! Read more

Benzina opened last May and I can’t believe it took this long for us to eat here! Colfax is nicknamed the “longest,... wickedest street in America." Benzina is wickedly good. Owner Brad Anderson has been a partner in many Denver restaurants, butI remember him from the Rocky Mountain Diner. He converted an old Phillips 66 gas station, built in 1963, into a beautifulmid-century modern Italian restaurant and bar. Benzina translates to "Gasoline,” which seems appropriate. Chef DanieleBolognini, who was born and raised in Italy (and previously was the executive chef at Acorn until it closed), oversees thekitchen. The menu is tightly constructed with 3 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 pastas, 2 meat dishes, 6 pizzas, and 3 dessert options. We shared one item from each category (except the meat). One of the best meals we have had in Denver. Ever. Read more

Benzina is a phenomenal restaurant! The space is unquestionably charming. What once was an auto shop now perfects fresh pasta,... pizza and cocktails. While the food and ambiance are great, their portions are on the smaller side and can be fairly pricey. Read more

So excited for this new restaurant. Great patio. The food was delicious, but they are still working out some service kinks. ... The drinks took a long time. The chocolate tart was amazing, but be warned you only get a half. We all wanted more. Read more
