Had a great experience here last night. Bartender was really nice, fun banter about his Lions beating the Packers(I know, going... to a Detroit themed bar after your favorite team loses to the Lions is an interesting tactic) But, it was worth it. Good beerselection. Good pizza and the Caesar salad with anchovies was great. Now, time for the most important part?the bathroom mirrors.Great mirror to take a good selfie in. Will for sure be back. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We modified one of their specialty pizzas and it was the best pizza I?ve had in quite a few... years. Not hyperbole. The toppings were present in equal portions, the crust was light and airy, but still flavorful and had acrispy edge. Do yourself a favor and get a side of hot honey. The beer selection had some solid selections but not for a pizzajoint. I have to say, they should offer more light or hoppy beers since they are serving pizza. They have a lot of sweet andheavy dark beers for the fare they serve. I know it?s fall, but you still need to have some lighter and more crisp beers toserve with pizza. That?s on whoever orders their booze. My magnolia salad was delicious but my girlfriend?s Caesar arrivedwithout croutons and drowning in a gallon of Caesar. Also, there?s a staunch lack of ambience. 10/10 would recommend. Growing up in Southeast Michigan we had regular or deep-dish pizza. I didn't realize at the time that our... deep-dish was unique to Detroit, and now there's Detroit style pizza. Blue Pan specializes in Detroit Style pizza. I've had halfof the varieties offered, and haven't had a bad one yet. Though none of these pizzas, in my experience, will be found in anaverage Detroit pizzeria, the 3-1-3 is probably my favorite. Also, we get 2 small pizzas for 2 people, but take one home fordinner as well. Go Blue! Read more
There is a ton of hype surrounding this place and I?m happy to say that it lived up to it! Went on a Monday and it was quiet,... service was great. Garlic bread had a subtle garlic butter flavor and the sauce that comes on the side is probably the best I?vehad in Colorado. Both Detroit style and NY style pizza were delicious! Their bacon is super smokey and flavorful too. 5 starsand will be returning again. Read more
This place knows how to make a legit Detroit style pie. We ordered the Brooklyn Bridge and it had a fantastic crust and great... flavor overall. The dough had a nice sour note that I look for and the toppings tasted great. Love the cupping pepperoni. I?mfrom Michigan and this is better than most of the Detroit style pizzas there. Read more
We heard that hype and had to try it. Both NY and Detroit style pizzas were good, but the Rocky Mountain Detroit style was... absolutely outstanding. This pizza made our visit. The Prospector sounded better than it was, quite bland. Strengths: textureand flavor of the crust in any style were impeccable. Their pepperoni and sausage were strong and delicious. Weaknesses:expensive, long wait, crowded, short dining period. Appetizers were overpriced, though tasty. We didn't regret getting toexperience Blue Pan, but it won't be a regular spot. Read more
Delicious variety of specialty pizzas and toppings to make a custom one. The Detroit style pan was so crunchy and fluffy. We... enjoyed the Brooklyn Bridge, Golden Hill and Sweetie Pie. There was plenty to take home leftovers. The Best part of that was thetake-home box has instructions on it on how to properly crisp up your pan pizza at home! Would?ve had to wait an hour in a larger group, but the two of us were able to snag seats at the bar pretty quickly! Great... service and delicious food & drinks! We got two small specialty vegetarian pizzas (yes, that?s vegan pepperoni in the pic!!)which maximized the corner pieces ? a pro tip from our server.
