Wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant. The halibut special with braised spinach and roasted potatoes was cooked perfectly.... The gnocchi and eggplant were soft pillows. Always a great meal and nice service Read more

I've been going to Locanda Del Borgo since they opened up many years ago. Since, the beginning this little jewel in Hiltop has... survived Covid and the dreaded fear of great Italian cuisine and atmosphere at a reasonable price. GianCarlo keeps a close watchon his kitchen and the quality of food he serves that are traditional dishes served hit and fresh from the cucina. Even if youhave a child that wants Chicken tenders because of allergies, bam done deal. It's a Family restaurant with a great bar to sitat, after a hard day at work, and visit over a nice vino Russo Barolo and Soup to pizza out of the brick oven. I'm all Italianand he truly serves the meat of my people traditionally like in Italy with a Denver twist and is right in the heart of Crestmoorand Hiltop with other places to manga in Lowry! I love to see Giancarlo at the bar after cooking having a glass of vino talkingto all his people over the years. I can walk in there after a couple of years and he makes you feel like you never left withsignature dishes that my Mother use to make, risotto con Fungi to die for...huge bang for the buck and quality dishestraditionally prepared. Grazie Giancarlo per la buona pasta. Ciao Ciao Read more

This may have been one of the best meals I have ever had! The gnocchi was something I will dream about. Our server was great and... did not try to sell us on his favorites - simply told us what the most popular dishes were - and kept our wine glasses full.Highly recommend. Read more

Well, this place came highly recommended- My friend and I order the salmon (over cooked / dry), roasted potatoes- no season/lack... of, calamari- rubbery, and the cannolis - filling had a weird texture and taste. First impression- not great - will not goback! Read more

Long time client of the restaurant. Always a great, consistent go to for us. Haven't been there for a year. It was a... disappointing experience, unfortunately, and I it will be some time before we come back. We might instead just get our favoritesalad (the grilled seafood salad) as a to go item and leave it there. Why were we disappointed during our recent dinner? Theprices have gone up a great deal. We would have been less disappointed about that fact had the food and service been at least atthe same level that there were at in the past. My husband had cioppino, which was just a sloppy unappealing mess--pasta VERYovercooked, loads of tomato paste without any sort of soupiness that is typical and desirable in this dish; very littleshellfish, and bland, At over $30 for the dish we expected far more. Our guest had the short rib ravioli-always dependable, butit too was sloppy, bland and overcooked. Our green salads were fine-nothing exceptional for the outrageous prices (and thearugula salad, which also promised fennel, had so little fennel-it was just a pile of arugula with cheese). The split platecharges are ridiculous and unwarranted, especially in these days when people order lots of things to share. And charging $6 fora few tiny single bite pieces of focaccia and olive oil is outrageous-we were promised that the basket would be refilled, butsince the waitstaff failed to ever check with your table on anything (the two people that seemed to be at odds as to who was ourserver were inattentive--and perhaps this is they never refilled water, asked if we wanted add'l cocktails, and failed to noticethat our food did not arrive hot), we were unable to ask for a refill. The cocktail that our guest ordered was not great and didnot come as he had ordered (but it was hard to find the staff to ask for an adjustment). The seafood salad was the only thing weenjoyed, though the new price for it was very high. A pity too that the whole wheat pasta dish with the feta, f Read more

Full of financially-secure locals because visitors can’t find it. Definitely recommend reservations. Food is quite good, but... on the pricier side. Service is always strong, and the ambiance is warm and classy. Read more
