Peter?s is the best Chinese food in the area, period!! Fresh amazing food and super friendly staff really give this place the... best kind of neighborhood feel. I?ve never had sesame chicken as good as Peter?s. The food is consistent and you feel happyafter leaving the place. I have turned my friends onto this spot, and they always ask if we can get Peter?s when they are in mypart of town. While this spot is 5 min from me, I would drive 30 min for it? Read more
So incredibly disappointing, the "Fried rice" was what looked like steam rice with mixed soy sauce. By the way, it was... completely flavorless so I don't even know what they used to season it to make it look like soy sauce. Not one piece of vege oreven egg in that fried rice, so its just colored Steamed rice at this point. My "Mongolian chicken" was 100% not Mongolianchicken. I asked for added mushroom and got 3. It was seasoned with what tasted like soy sauce and sugar. Worst "Chinese" foodI've had in literal years. Good reviews were completely misleading. I'm so beyond disappointed I can't eat this mess. This place is so good!!! Their entrees are really fresh and delicious (You know some Chinese restaurants have rubbery meat,... unrecognizable veggies because they are overcooked, with overpowering sauce...but not this place!!) Hands down, this place isthe best Chinese cafe in Denver. Also, all the staff members were so nice. It's unbelievable to see people leaving 1 star forpaying $1 more than they expected for their meal to small business dealing with this turbulent economy. I think we should showsome grace for their website not being updated. Honestly, their portion sizes were big (excited to eat my leftovers for lunch :)and their prices were very fair. I ?bought the lemon chicken lunch special as part of a lunchtime workplace order and it was a complete BUST. The chicken was... hard and both looked and tasted old and yucky, the rice was more like sauted white rice, than fried rice and it was flavorless.The "lemon" sauce tasted bland and flavorless and was the color of orange sauce or sweet and sour, not lemon sauce; no lemonflavor or color was found except on the single lemon slice on top of the dried out chicken. The only thing I was able to eat andsomewhat enjoy, was skinny little egg roll. Peter?s Chinese Cafe is a reliable standby for Americanized Chinese food in Congress Park. It?s got the lunch specials, the... huge menu, and the familiar character of a long-running neighborhood restaurant. It may not be the best Chinese town (exceptfor maybe the Sesame Chicken WOW!) but it does the job respectably and consistently. Read more
We were in the area and found a gem! The customer service by both of the front staff was outstanding. They both were answering... phones and helping carry out customers. We ordered our food and it came out quick, hot and super delicious! We were sat at awindow table, given water and plates; a memorable experience as we originally ordered to go. We enjoyed the food and service somuch we will become regulars for Chinese food! We tipped largely after seeing the best customer service we have everyexperienced. It appears Peter has been in business for a long time, this place has an old school feel. Small dining area but quick service... from, who I believe to be, the owner Peter. The food is extremely quick. Offering dine in or take out. They are busy so food isalso fresh. The man was quick to take order and help with payment, he was calling men Sir and women Madame. Not what you expectfrom someone driving a classic Mercedes Benz. Surprised to see that Tip Jar so empty.... What better service can you get? Thetakeout had enough sauces for my meal, they cut the corners off the carton so it doesn't get soggy, and they included a freefried egg roll. They rounded up to give me dollars instead of change. The food was perfect for a chinese restaurant, I had thesesame chicken and cheese wontons. Pretty classic and the chicken was fresh. I'll give it a 9.8/10, just needs an update to2022. Read more
