Great food, great service. We did the 5 course with wine pairings. I thought the wine pairings were spot on, and I appreciated... that they were mostly Northwest wines, all of which I hadn't tasted before, and we do head off into Oregon wine country on asemi-regular cadence....so now we've added some wineries to our list to visit. We loved the tataki with albacore; a reallygreat take on a traditional Japanese dish. Didn't love the ling cod as much, but I liked that it was local, and go ahead andtry to make cod interesting, I dare you. The wagyu is American wagyu, so it's just steak, but it was dressed and presented verywell, and I thought the 'doneness' was perfect. This is the best you can get without ordering frozen steaks fromJapan. Everything was plated beautifully and our server was very attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant, which was a greatcomplement to the experience. It seemed that there really wasn't a bad seat in the house as far as the view goes, but wecertainly enjoyed our window seat view, so I'd recommended requesting that in your reservation. Read more

Wow. Just wow. Easily the best food and fancy treatment on the Oregon coast. This was the jewel of our vacation! Every course... brought ooohhs and awwws and "the best of ________ I've ever had". First, the simple warm focaccia was the pinnacle of bread. The Wahoo (Yellowtail) Crudo (carpaccio/raw) was life-changingly good with bright rhubarb bits and chive oil shining through.Second course we had literally fork-tender bavette (aged flat iron steak) with wild-foraged morels and then aslap-your-grandmother good meltingly tender lingcod on a smear of roasted cauliflower puree that was nutty and rich and wow!Dessert brought a dark, rich (almost chocolate notes) blackberry creme brulee, an amazing dense almond cake with crunchy maltedmagic on top and smoked ice cream along side, dessert three was a dense rich crema in a strawberry coulee. Add in perfectservice, great wine and cocktails, an amazing view complete with whales and eagles. Gasp. Read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. The pork belly and ice cream is always fabulous, but the paté de foie gras is absolutely... incredible! Order it -- you will *not* be disappointed. The dessert menu is packed, making it hard to decide. My friend and Ishared the strawberry-champagne crème brûlée and the tres leches cake. Both were creamy, sweet (without being cloying), anddelicious. Roll everything together with an unparalleled view -- even when it's raining -- and you have the makings of a 5-starmeal! Read more

We had an excellent meal here. This is one of the best restaurants I?ve ever eaten at in Oregon, up with Q and Arden in... Portland. I had the steak and my wife had the pork. We also had appetizers and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was greatand the drinks were very good too especially the Negroni and they had excellent beer selections. Very highly recommended. Rounding down from 4.2. Pix show the lovely, which includes a view and also a charming server. The flavors were rich enough, but... for the price, and the reputation, should have been more complex, more consistently impressive, and maybe even a wee bitprettier. That carrot purée you see under the steak not withstanding, it was all super, but not mind bending, which we expectedfrom Chef?. And from the difficulty involved in securing a reservation. The frozen mousse with the pork made an jnterestingsauce, so big points. The fish was fine, but being from LA, we are used to excellent fish. The pretty little apps were tasty, and? pretty. We enjoyed the view and the chatting, but felt a little rushed and wished we?d skipped the prix fixe chef?s choicemeal as it was just a bit off the satisfaction:spend ratio. Read more
