We got room service staying at the Doubletree it’s connected to Johnny’s Italian steakhouse. It was a really amazing I got... the trio which I highly suggest if you don’t want to choose between steak, pasta, and chicken! Very tasty crust on the steak. Also came with a surprisingly huge salad, and amazing bread with oil on the side… the salad had olives, fresh grated Parmesancheese and also one banana pepper! Hamburger was favorable, but undercooked, ask for well done and you’ll be good. Iappreciate the service after a long day we got something so delicious serve to our room! Read more

This place has an exquisite menu selection. You can be seated under fancy chandeliers or have a seat at the bar. I took my son... here for his 21st birthday dinner celebration with immediate family members. Not many restaurants have the drink selection likeJohnny's so my biryhday boy and myself order Martinis although some opted for beer. It isn't just anywhere one can order BeefWellington so my boys took this dinner option. I chose the signature Italian steak and others chose another Italian dish andeven lamb for dinner. It was a very nice dinner you cannot have at just any restaurant. The restaurant served a special birthdaypecan cheesecake with a candle for an added touch top off this phenomenal dining experience. The servers are dressed up andprofessional. I would like to go back for a more casual lunchtime and sit at the bar. Read more

Not a bad spot for a dinner and cocktail at the bar. Actually, an excellent spot for a cocktail at the bar. I had the whistlepig... and it was phenomenal- I’ve never savoured a drink for so long, just to sit and enjoy its flavour. The food was great as well, can’t go wrong with the steak and shrimp. I gobbled down the Side of vegetables, which were surprisingly flavourful. Onlydisappointment was the mediocre side salad. Read more

There is no better place in West Des Moines for a business meal, romantic getaway, or after work drink. After a string of long... and frustrating flights you arrive at The Rewind hotel. You angrily wheel your bags into the room, toss your laptop onto the bed[just enough to make it know you're angry but not enough to break it], and leave the room for Johnny's in the lobby. You walkup to the hostess station with a look that could scare away even the most disgruntled octogenarian and encounter Cienna. Despiteyou looking like a constipated chihuahua she greets you with with the most welcoming smile and positive attitude you'veexperiericed in months. You attempt to process the positivity surrounding you as you're lead to a table. You sit down and openthe menu instinctively wondering what just happened, and are greeted by one of the many servers who are genuinely there to treatyou like a human being. You order a drink, some water, and end up in an actually interesting conversation that lasts five toten minutes. Which resumes when the drinks are served, before you place an order for an appetizer. All is quiet, albeit a bitlonely, until the appetizer arrives. Don't fret - this is a meal in an of itself. You down some mind-blowing salmon dip orbruschetta, and think your stomach is done. Then the next drink comes. After you grab yourself a negroni or bourbon you'reready for a the main dish. You worry about the cost, but perform mental gymnastics saying the company will pay for it, or thatthis is a treat to yourself...well it is, and get what you want because you're worth it. There is absolutely no disappointment;every dish is meticulously prepared and comes out the perfect temperature. Your gut swells with the strokes of your fork andeverything around you looses meaning. You're full and paid. As you walk past the half-empty bar something calls to you. Yourstride meanders to the row of empty chairs. You sit and Wade comes upon you. This is your hardest decis Read more

Still on my Italian lunch search for the tastiest, well seasoned and belly pleasing entrees. I’ve tried to order what some say... is the best house dish to compare—for that dish should rock your world. Alissa is my server—very pleasant young lady. I’mputting my order in for the stuffed mushrooms and Johnny’s Minnelli. The mushrooms really will have to be great in comparisonto my last Italian venture. Upon entering the foyer the vocal greeting lacked enthusiasm as if to say “welcome.” The StuffedMushrooms arrived—flavor of the meatballs with the Italian sausage, chopped onions , and cheese had a nice crunch and was veryflavorful. My taste of lemonade was awful—too watered down—I’ll drink water after the last sip. Next up the lunch entreeof Johnny’s Minnelli with Chicken—-the dish was “a classic” by that meaning one of the best fettuccine noodle dishesthat I’ve had since starting this review. Not to mention — the Tiramisu was simply beyond delicious! A very good “lunchchef” serving up great food! Read more

Server was excellent. Steak deburgo was good and cooked correctly. The sirloin was overcooked but the primary problem was it... is was a poor cut of meat. Felt cheap, tasteless, and dry. Dessert (lava cake) was tasty. So some good, some bad. 3 star -Average. Decent to visit once Read more
