My co-workers and I came to this place since it has high reviews. We came here for sushi ???? and received plates with huge... rectangular blocks of rice and barely any tuna or salmon inside. If that wasn't enough my co-workers are getting refills from analready opened half full 1 liter coca cola bottle. Ridiculously expensive and the atmosphere needs all the help andwork. ????The "Japonessa" sushi spot in downtown was high quality service with fresh tuna and salmon. Beautiful atmosphere.Definitely much cheaper and high quality food. ???? Perfect for a date. ????"Kaihana" had expensive rice and i don't recommendthis place especially if aren't from the area. 10/10 Bianca is super sweet and personable. Food is great and I like the atmosphere. Haven?t been in since before covid and I?m... super happy I went back. Will probably have my birthday here because of the karaoke and the service. Thanks for keeping thishidden gem open even through these rough times! Read more

Tried Kaihana tonight and it was such a great experience. They reopened recently for indoor dining and I?m so glad we tried it!... The owner, Bianca, was so nice and welcoming, and chatted with us throughout the meal. She knew the names of all the customersthat came for pick up orders too. It was really good sushi and reasonably priced! Great service, great food, we will definitelybe back! Read more
I was on vacation in the Seattle area and happened to find this little spot - I'm glad I did. I had delicious sushi & miso and... you can tell everything is fresh. The employees and patrons all put a smile on my face with their welcoming vibes andconversation. I would definitely recommend Kaihana to anyone near Des Moines/Seattle area. Read more
Fresh and well-made sushi, along with excellent service, is hard to come by, but Kaihana is a cut above the rest. We have dined... in some of the most popular cities and eaten immense amounts of sushi, this place is one of the best. Service was exceptionaland it felt like we were dining at a friend?s house. This spot is a real hidden gem! The sushi was extremely fresh with creative combinations and reasonably priced too. Note that... they operate on a reservation only model on the weekends (which for me is tough since we can be pretty spontaneous at times!).The service was attentive and friendly.
