Gigio's has this true warm, home away from home feeling about it, that would have been far more perceptible, had it not been for... the mask mandate. But the continued mandate is understandable, given the close proximity to food that is about to be served orgo out to members of the public. Makes one feel safe to know one's food is treated with such high regard. The pizza is great.Excellent, thin crust, original style pizza with basic toppings, to which one can add at a cost per topping. We wanted proper,original pizza without modern bells and whistles, and that's what we got, and it was a proper feast! The service is warm andfriendly, and fits perfectly with the atmosphere! This is seriously some of the best pizza by the slice you will find in Chicago. Crispy, light crust is accompanied by a perfect... blend of cheeses and a sauce I could only dream of making. Only negative I have about this place is that it is so far fromme! I kid you not, if you haven?t gotten a slice from here drop what you are doing and go. Everytime we go to my daughterspediatrician, getting a few slices to bring home is a MUST. This is a pizzeria that truly cares about their ingredients and youcan tell with each bite you take.
