This business will be out of business at this location in 90 days. Like other businesses like them THEY ARE ALWAYS LATE... I... was the first customer there yesterday, they opened late....Had no food ready...and the lady who was the owner, or cooking thefood had a funky attitude!!!! Their food tastes great, but the funky service, funky attitudes, and lack of professionalism willdoom this business. Black businesses feel that they can treat black people any kind of way and we will continue to be loyal. This place is straight DUMPSTER JUICE!!!!! You know you're supposed to open at 1130, I ordered a piece of chicken and dressing, and did not get my food until 1238pm, and I was the first customer in the door, and first customer to place my order!!! Andagain, the lady who was cooking was very rude, and had a funky attitude..... I am just waiting on them to close down!!!! Read more

McKenzie's Kitchen & Catering Special thanks to Ms. Ahnest ??????????for helping me with my selections. Now this place is... interesting???? It's pretty big for a catering event. Their menu seems to be pretty large with a lot of different items. Icame in to get some vegetables and I was satisfied with their selections. Now coming in here on a Sunday, do it at your ownrisk. Because there is a megachurch down the street and this place will be jam-packed. Would I recommend eating heredefinitely and yes if you're looking for southern cooking ?????????????????????????????????????????. Read more

I've been going here once a week for about a month now. I always get the fried pork chop plate and a slice of sweet potato pie.... The food has been consistently hot, fresh, and tasty. They don't hold you and your food hostage either. If it's going to take abit more time, they tell you. But it's NEVER been too too long. So (unlike MANY other places) you're NOT sitting there for 45minutes or an hour wondering where your food is. Also, EVERY PERSON I've interacted with that works here has been pleasant and efficient. They seem genuinely good with taking your order and getting your food out to you timely. They understand their rolesin servicing customers and that's VERY REFRESHING! Unlike MANY OTHER restaurants, they don't treat you like you're a bother. There's always a greeting and a "thank you". And man! I don't mind one bit when it comes to giving my money to businesses whose workers don't roll their eyes or breathe heavily or ignore me or just overall give their customers the blues. Read more

They are usually really busy, the food is really delicious and the servings are worth the prices. Banana pudding is made from... scratch , peach cobbler mmm, yams on cue. No complaints at all. I?ve eaten baked chicken, smothered pork chops, meat loaf, beeftips, ox tails with dressing. All home cooked tasting. My favorite soul food restaurant. Read more

4 1/2 stars for the quality of the food? My second time here with my Husband. I must warn you? you will be waiting a while?... although online it states the hours of operation are from 11:30am-5:00pm ? my Husband called and tried to place an order at11:45am and he was told they won?t open until 12:30-12:45? I hate to say this but in my experience of dealing with? Black owned?establishments it seems as if they create their own schedules whenever without notifying the public? Overall we are here stillwaiting in line right now it?s 1:29pm we arrived at 12:20pm.. the food is good and the portions are larger than expected? Iguess you can say it?s worth the wait if you are patient 1:47pm I finally was able to order Read more

This was our first time here. When we arrived the line was to the door. After waiting like 10 minutes the line started moving... quickly but then came to a stand still again. We waited in line for about an hour. Okay so they have different menu's fordifferent days of the week. So we went on Sunday. I'll attach menu...... I ordered the Turkey wings with dressing my sides wereMac and cheese and greens and kool-aid for the drink. My husband had the baked chicken with the same sides I had. Let me tellyou this the portion sizes that you get are insane. They make sure that you get enough food and then have some left over forlunch the next day. As far as the taste..... The dressing was really good...the only thing I didn't like was the fact that ithad onions..... But after I picked all the ???? out and added the cranberry sauce it was really good. Same as my turkey wing. Itwas huge and flavorful. Now the greens I wasn't a huge fan of. It had flavor but it seemed as if it needed to be cooked a littlemore. As far as my husband plate. He enjoyed his food but didn't eat his greens. They also give you a choice of a roll or cornbread. The customer service is good but you can tell that it was a lot that they were taking on with long line, making sure thefood was ready whenever they ran out of something, and the phone orders. I will most definitely come back to visit! Read more

I've been making my way around the area testing out different eating places and let me tell you right now! McKenzie's Kitchen is... my #1 Soul Food spot. This is the only soul food restaurant I keep coming back to. The food is delicious. It has a southernquality that has your taste buds wanting to try everything on the menu. The food is expertly plated and the personalities of thestaff have a family feel that make you feel at home. I will admit it does take a little while to get through the line sometimesbut any soul food that's made quick and made with soul. The portions are so big it took me a couple days to finish. I wouldrecommend trying this hidden gem before the lunch or dinner rush but either way, you will not be disappointed with the food ????Grab a brownie too! Read more
