From the moment we walked in, the service was five star. Everyone at the restaurant is bought in to the culture of an incredible... customer experience. The food was all I could ask for. We had the local walleye and the sea bass. Oysters as appetizers and thebeet salad. I am still raving about the food. And the coconut creme cake to finish it off was incredibly perfect. We ate in theevening and the view of Canada across the water was impeccable. When I am in Detroit again, I absolutely plan on an encore, asthere was so much more I wanted to try. Read more

Food was amazing. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and mashed potatoes were unreal. Not to mention the perfectly cooked... lobster tail. This was a great way to spend my birthday. They bring out the whole dessert cart so you can choose a complimentarydessert. I just went with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing. Hands down an amazing restaurant. Read more

While in Detroit, we were looking for places with happy hours, and came across Joe Muer Seafood, conveniently located inside our... hotel, the Renaissance Centre. We had an absolutely fabulous experience here. While the regular menu is a bit pricey (thoughgood quality), the happy hour is a great, affordable way to experience the restaurant and amazing views. The snacks and drinkson the special happy hour menu were inventive and delicious - we tried every one and shared them between our group of five. Ourfavourite snacks were the fries and the calamari - definitely some of the best calamari I've ever had. It was crispy andperfectly seasoned, with a delicious dipping sauce. Our group also tried different local beers and some cocktails - my favouritewas the lemon drop. We loved the experience so much that we came back almost every day while we were in the city. The views, food and service were second to none. Since the happy hour is quite popular, it can be a bit tight at the bar, however thereare two sides that you can choose to sit at. The restaurant does also have a strict dress code in place - one member of thegroup had to change out of her yoga pants before being allowed to enter. We were ok with this, as it does help to maintain agreat experience and upscale ambiance. This is a must-try staple when in Detroit. Read more

I have mixed feelings about this place, I’m not a huge seafood fan so my review might be a bit bias. I absolutely adored the... manager he was so accommodating and very sweet with our rather large party of 7. However our server, who I won’t name was notfriendly at all, in fact he seemed annoyed with us when really we were very nice and patient with him. The service was ratherslow but the food was pretty good. Read more

Great food and drinks, good service and perfect location. Couldn't have asked for more. We thoroughly enjoyed their fried... calamari and broiled Lake Superior Whitefish with creamed spinach, alongside a glass of Stella Rosa and a Skinny Cosmopolitan.Highly recommend visiting. Read more

Yesterday was my first time dinning at Joe Muer, I had heard so much about to I was very excited to try the place! I went here... for lunch, lunch is a lot slower than dinner so we were able to have excellent seating despite being walk-in. We got twodifferent types of oysters, both delicious, plus soup. The food is flavourful, as are the drinks. They have a great margaritasalong with a good wine selection (plan to try this out when I am back). For dessert, I had Crème Brûlée, very creamy! This isa great date night spot, place for celebrations, or business lunches. Read more

It is not easy to give Joe Muer Seafood a 3-star. The food was better than most seafood restaurants in US but it is an upscale... fancy place with dress codes for Everyone so I had to raise the bar. The raw bar was closed during lunch. They were out of fewother fishes which is understandable during the pandemic. The beets salad had fresh arugula and beets but the beets were cutinto quarters which is little hard to eat without cutting. The perch was fresh but the it was sauté little too much so it wasdry. The mashed potato was so so. The Australian sea bass was good. Now, the signature dessert, Coconut cake, was very muchlike a cheesecake. I found out later that they had a dessert display cart that had several delicious looking desserts whichwas never shown to us. A 20% gratitude was automatically added to our bill for 2 people. I would have left more tips besidesthe 20% if the service was better. The main dining room has very nice view of Canada and the lake if you are not wearing anysportswear. Read more
