Okay definitely recommend making a reservation. Also there is a dress code and you need to dress nice it’s not a casual place.... When you call to make a reservation they will remind you of the dress code and take a credit card to hold the table. We tried togo last minute without a reservation and ended up just doing takeout. The food was still delicious and I’m glad we did. Friedchicken was perfect and not dry at all. High quality ingredients. Staff was super nice and helpful. Next time I’ll make areservation. Read more
5/5! Best black owned restaurant in Detroit! I felt welcomed from the moment I was greeted at the door. The music the lights... the setting of the restaurant was a vibe! And what a bonus to see my beautiful black brothers and sisters dining insophistication! The menu is well thought out with modern flare on homestyle cuisine. Everything was delicious and filling. Thebar is also well stocked, and did I mention the bathrooms are clean! The staff took proper care of all the tables, the kitchendid a wonderful job at preparing fresh/hot food. Awesome little place ! We didn’t have a reservation but were able to sit at the bar. The food was delicious. We got the hummus... & pita which was just out of this world. Something about fried pita bread that makes everything Yumm Chicken wings were wellcooked, crispy on the outside and juicy inside! It was nice. This was for my birthday, but reservations were made. It wasn't crowded and the atmosphere was calm. Our food... assistant was really nice and bubbly. When we ordered our appetizers they didn't take long to come out as well as our meals,nice and quick. Overall a nice place to dine if you're in the mood for soul food. @according2teau ???????? From New York and in town for two days & nights looked for restaurant with great food and friendly staff. Southern Taste and... experience was great. Went back in the summer and it was a very nice experience. The ambiance is dark upscale elegant dining. The food was awesome! My... favorite was the catfish tenders with the sauce and the cornbread. Will be back to try new items on until menu. Read more
I seriously don’t know how this restaurant have such a good rating! I have been to many restaurant who follows dress code but... this one has detailed instruction what to wear and what not! Who don’t wear hoodie in winter!!! Apart from cookie ice creamwith Vanilla, food were either too salty or bland! Their spinach were dipped in salt and not sure what that sweet potato was!
