Live anywhere else but here. After the initial solid leasing experience. Living at The Albert is a nightmare. The property has... persistent issues with the fire alarm going off and the fire panel consistently beeping in the lobby. More times than not thereis only one elevator working causing for lengthy wait times to get to/from your unit if you're unable to take the stairs. Myexperience with management has truly been "squeaky wheel gets the grease" when issues you arise its incumbent on the resident tobe persistent to get the items addressed. Naturally in urban settings there are things outside of control of the buildingmanagement. If you decided to live in alley facing apartment you can count on being woken up early in the morning to the garbagetrucks banging the metal top dumpsters up and down. For what its worth - If you read through these reviews its apparent most ofthese are not actual residents and fake reviews generated to boost their score. That's why they are all leasing specific, andnot property specific. Read more

I don't know where to begin with how terrible this place is to live. There are homeless people that stay in the vestibule every... single night, homeless people using our community laundry room. No security, dirty common areas that smell. if you're looking tospend close to $2k a month with homeless people living rent free in the common areas with little to no security in downtowndetroit then this would be the place for you. Today alone I saw a homeless person sleeping in the lobby mid day, then went to dolaundry this evening where I saw the same homeless man I see every morning outside of the albert utilizing every single washingmachine. I asked if he lived here and he said no & that he's "helping a friend". I have complained to management and they tellme I need to call the cops when I see a homeless person.... I have finally had enough with the horrible management here. Iwouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing the albert has are the people; where we all form friendshipstalking about how unsafe and gross this place is to live. Read more

Staff, amazing. Very attentive, Dallas is an angel and addresses needs in the building as quickly as possible. Maintenance is... fairly quick to address issues as well, considering there's a staffing issue. The downside- our elevators break constantly, wedon't have washer and dryers in units, and instead of adding those, they decided to give us more expensive washer an dryers(based on load size). We don't have 24 hour conceirge, which is actually in our lease. It's very evident issues come from lackof listening in upper management. Read more

I called The Albert a few weeks back to inquire about available apartments and was greeted by the affable and very professional... Ms. Ealy, an associate in the office. She was fantastic and even gave me a virtual tour of two of the units I was interested in,explaining each facet of the space all along the way. We then moved on to the common spaces as well, all shown and talked aboutin the best way possible. I am looking forward to a great living experience at The Albert, and you should be too! Read more

This has been a mixed but mostly bad experience. To start, the front desk folks are helpful, kind and great, and the building is... located. Ext to lots of things and close to everything, that is all this building offers however. The alley facing apartmentsare LOUD! We were told that garbage trucks don?t come through the alley until 7am, which would have been fine, though it?scompletely untrue. Garbage trucks come through anytime time between 3 and 6 in the morning, and sometimes multiple times anight, and there is nothing you can do about it. The city says they can?t enforce noise ordinances downtown, so your stuck withthis. The fire alarm goes off at least once a month and always at night, and it takes a while for the fire department to comeand turn it off. The basement floods often, leaving you with out laundry service, or the elevator to the basement breaks. It?sreally not worth how expensive this place is. Pass it up and find a place that is quiet and and put together better. Read more
