Edit: April 2022 - ordered our usual ?Take set? the price of this set went up but I feel as if the quality of this dish has gone... down. Previously, the roll that came with this set was a tuna maki roll but that got switched with a California roll ????. Nothating on a California roll, but that?s not what I paid for. The rice was unseasoned and no wasabi between the rice/fish, someof the toppings were missing. The finesse of the meal was gone. It kind of reminded me of an all you can eat sushi place. Old review: Finally tried this sushi location and glad we did.Ordered 2 hikaru bento boxes ($80/bento - June 2020) for our wedding anniversary. Ordered to go and it came with a paper guidewith chef recommendation order (missed one letter (b in the picture) but that?s not a big deal - I am curious though in where itwould be placed in the order. Bento box was portioned into 4 sections - white fish and seaweed salad, nigiri ???? set, chirashiset, and cooked fish/crab. Also came with an egg custard and matcha pudding. Parents of a friend from awhile ago owns this place. Was told about their Hikaru Bento and had to try it. Definitely wish I had... not nigiri or sashimi instead of the comes fish. Maybe they can substitute if you ask. Not sure if it's the same every timeeither. Overall though it was really good. I never questioned the pricing while I was eating. Read more
All the sashimi are so fresh and yummy !!!! Friendly staffs, very good Japanese family owned business with fair price. Best if... you sit at the sushi bar and order the fresh / live items of the day. Sometimes it will get pricy since it's market price, butyou can always tell them if you have a budget or your preference of the fish and they will arrange for you. You can also order 1by 1 unlike some places that only allow you to order omakase at sushi bar. Read more
Decent Japanese restaurant. My group ordered a big sushi boat and a bunch of other items. I chose the sukiyaki don. The fish is... pretty good and the sushi was a favourite among the group. The rice bowl could've been better. Staff weren't that attentive. The BEST sushi ever. Live scallop, clams, crab, shrimp, and FRESH fish for nigiri sushi. So, so, SO Good! Great sake options.
Fantastic sushi restaurant! Food was great. I ordered the Tempura combination and it was so goood! Thank you Sushi Koshu!
