the design is exquisite, the menu varied, the food is Ok. It is not totally authentically Mexican. It is more a fusion Mexican.... A bit on the pricey side. If you are with friends out for a few drinks and a bite it is ok but if you are looking for theauthentic Mexican culinary experience go to another place. I was not impressed unfortunately, and I wanted to love it. First of all, when you reserve online they apperently put you at the... bar and not at a table. If you want a table you need to either walk in and hope there's room (very small space) or call andspecifically reserve a table. Plates are super small. Baja fish tacos were underwhelming, but the Korean tacos were good. Nachoswere very good, although not what I expected when ordereding nachos. It was a surprise to find fried cheese dumplings withguacamole lol, but it was tasty. Waitress and bartender were very friendly. Also have a small outdoor terrasse if weatherpermits. For a Latin restaurant it was missing some music, it was missing ambiance. Not sure I will return :( Read more
I am honestly soooo in love with their guac & chips, I would come back just for that!! The vibes are amazing especially at... night, music can get super loud to the point where you're yelling just to speak. A little bit overpriced for a tapas menu.Servers were good, an okay service. Read more
Excellent little hidden gem in Ddo. Tapas style a little bit pricey but excellent quality delicious food. It definitely strays... from the regular Mexican food but is awesome at the same time. Very cool ambiance.. The waitresses were awesome and had a goodsense of humor. Highly... recommend all of the locations as they are consistently delivering above expectations. Well done. El Pastor tacos are probablythe best in Montreal, and the mango salad is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. If you have gluten issues ask for themango salad with the chips. Read more
The guacamole was one of the best I’ve tasted, comes with crispy tortillas. The tuna was okay but the tacos… Don’t be... afraid to try them out and end up only taking the chicken taco, the baja with the crispy cod was for me the best one. Icouldn’t believe how good it was. If you don't like tacos - you're wrong. With a large selection on their menu Escondite has something for any mood. Having tried... 80% of it in one night and pushing the limits of how much strain a regular belt can handle, we assure you of that. Crispytortillas, moist corn bread, well-seasoned meat, sweet and spicy sauces and awesome cocktails paired with a fun themed, largedining room perfect for a large group will not keep this taqueria hidden from you for long.
