Stay away from these scammers! Went with my wife to Coopers Hawk for dinner. After dinner we decided to have some drinks we... walked in to Chico Malo it was 11pm on a Friday night and it was totally empty. There must have been no more than six couples inthe entire restaurant and not one person eating. After my experience I understand why they are empty! We ordered 3 green teashots, 2 cocktails for the first round. A few minutes later we got another round. Like an hour later the bartender stated theywere closing the bar so he gave me my bill. When I saw the bill I was in shock $223 I could not believe they charged me $18 pershot more than the actual cocktails we ordered. I am a local in Miami and have ever been to a place that the shots cost morethen the cocktails. Especially being Jameson. Please be careful when going here. It’s not worth the money and it’s emptywith no vibe whatsoever. I also have noticed in the reviews others complaint about the same exact shots and the same badexperience! I will never go back. Wow, this place exceeded my expectations and our server Jennifer was such an attentive waitress! Ambiance 10/10 the restaurant... was decorated with a purpose! It’s clear that an expert was hired to make the place feel cozy, warm, and inviting. As thenight progresses, they dim the lights and the atmosphere becomes even more cozier. Additionally, the music in the beginning ofthe night is a low background music. But as the night progresses, the DJ arrives and the music is turned up. I loved it! By 12,the place turns into a spot for dancing and socializing. Food 10/10 the food menu was small but the food was delicious andfilling. We started with the guac, salsa, and salsa verde. Everything was delicious but the salsa verde was my favorite. Also,even something as simple as the details for the plates meshed well with the ambiance and was well thought out. I had the chickenenchiladas which melted in my mouth the moment I bit into it. It was topped with avocado, pico, and I believe a sour cream orcrema sauce. The enchiladas had just the right amount of cheese on top which was a relief since I’ve gone to other placeswhere there wasn’t nearly enough! On the other hand, my partner had the carne asada tacos and corn elote. After taking justone bite, my mouth was watering for more. His steak was cooked to perfection and tasted grilled and juicy. As far as the elote,wow! My first thought was…”this taste like a little piece of heaven.” Drinks: We had many many drinks this night andnothing disappointed! The drinks were well-mixed and the margarita was one of my all time favorite margaritas crafted at arestaurant. I had a tequila flight which was a different price from the menu but Jennifer was kind enough to mention that beforeplacing the order. Service: Jennifer was super nice, friendly, and attentive. Very over price drinks. I couldn’t believe the bill. Beware of prices and make sure u ask the cost of the drink u order. ... They charged me $19 per green tea drink….. definitely will not be going to this spot again. I’m a drinker but I’mdefinitely not paying $19 for a green tea drink. Read more

Came here to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. We were looking for a cool ambiance and good food and unfortunately, we only... achieved one of those things. First, we ordered the guacamole and red sangria which were both outstanding. We then ordered thegrilled octopus which was hard, chewy and charred; so that burnt taste was quite prominent. We also ordered the queso fundido,which was basically microwaved melted cheese. Our waitress literally told us to eat if fast or it would harden. Next we orderedthe tacos birra. The meat was good but they were very, very greasy and also a bit burned. Lastly we ordered the “Cesar”salad with steak. The steak was *very* over cooked and overall just nothing special about the salad. Did I mention overpriced?!3 stars and I’m being generous. Read more

My first impression is very nice ambient and music, food was very good and reasonable priced. Service was excellent and all... staff members were courteous. My only complaint was with drinks, $14 dollars for 6 onz margarita is too much. Also a 20% gratuity s added automatically, but service is excellent and I usually tip that amount. Read more
