Good little local place. Hush puppies are delicious. We asked for sweetener for the tea and finally got it at the end of the... meal. Really wanted mullet but they were out. Salad bar was small but good. Read more
What I was served as a $23 Captain?s Platter at Spivey's Catfish House tonight. Missing slaw and deviled crab. The ?scallops?... were pinky finger sized. So were the shrimp (only 6 of these). They were definitely not fresh. -10 out of 5. Will not be back. Read more
Food was good but overpriced. The poor waitress was trying to cover an entire half of the resturant. She did an awesome job but... must mean they're short staffed, so refills ran slow and food had sat before being brought out so it wasn't very hot. Mediumrare steaks were VERY rare. It was a good dinner and nice time despite, just expect more from a $30 steak dinner. Read more
The steak was really good, but I asked for medium rare and it was still dark red (nearly raw) and there was too much char on it.... The shrimp was good, but for $30 I expected to get more than a few pieces of it. The salad bar was pretty basic and you can tellthe veggies were the stuff you get out of the store bags.
