What I was served as a $23 Captain?s Platter at Spivey's Catfish House tonight. Missing slaw and deviled crab. The ?scallops?... were pinky finger sized. So were the shrimp (only 6 of these). They were definitely not fresh. -10 out of 5. Will not be back. Read more
Food was good but overpriced. The poor waitress was trying to cover an entire half of the resturant. She did an awesome job but... must mean they're short staffed, so refills ran slow and food had sat before being brought out so it wasn't very hot. Mediumrare steaks were VERY rare. It was a good dinner and nice time despite, just expect more from a $30 steak dinner. Read more
The steak was really good, but I asked for medium rare and it was still dark red (nearly raw) and there was too much char on it.... The shrimp was good, but for $30 I expected to get more than a few pieces of it. The salad bar was pretty basic and you can tellthe veggies were the stuff you get out of the store bags. A clean place to eat with very good seafood. We both had shrimp, one jumbo and one popcorn which was good. The hush puppies were... probably the best I ever had. We had gator tail appetizers which was cooked very well but had a seasoning on them I had nevertasted on gator tail before... wasn't bad but definitely different. I know everything is going up in cost but I still think over$50 is a bit much for two meals and one appetizer...with tip was well into the mid 60's...but that is why I choose to eat athome mostly now. Overall a friendly staff... good food but far to expensive for going there very often. Maybe a special outingor to take guest to. Read more
Always delicious! The staff is super friendly and they treat you like family. I love coming here with my family when I'm in... town. My dad had the all-you-can-eat catfish, while my mom and I shared the large ribeye. See you again soon! Read more
Food was delicious had fried shrimp, fries & salad bar. Bought the sliced strawberry and cream cheese cake to take home tasted... wonderful like homemade. Service was tremendous. What I needed when I needed it and not pushed. Can't wait to go back. Smalltown treasure. Read more
Stake was cooked perfectly, wife loved it, kids loved it. Definitely going back
