Cute restaurant and bar in Downtown Douglas. The outside seating is great, they have a patio and covered porch. Live music... outside in "The Yard" some nights! The menu is not very traditional, it's all "small plates" that change every now and again.They recommend 2 to 3 plates per person (plates vary around $11 to $20). This is truly a gem in the Saugatuck/Douglas area. We were in town for a friends reunion trip and made a reservation for a... Saturday lunch, but unfortunately had to cancel due to a medical emergency. The Borrowed Time staff very kindly offered to moveour reservation to lunch the next day, which we happily accepted. The staff and service at Borrowed Time was excellent, and thefood was absolutely delicious. We ordered one of everything on the menu, as well as several of the specialty cocktails, andeverything exceeded our expectations. Although the menu is seasonal and changes, some of my favorite items from our meal werethe mushroom larb and the pork belly. If you're looking for a restaurant, don't miss Borrowed Time - it was the best restaurantmeal we had during our trip! Read more

The food was phenomenal. The Lamb and the seared tuna special blew our minds. Everything else was great as well. Wonderful experience! The food was so well thought out, presented, and tasted superb. I do have a soft spot for tapas (small... plates) style restaurants because the conversation at the table comes so easily when you’re sharing the same bites of food.This restaurant did all of their dishes exceptionally well. Our favorites were the mushroom larb, roasted beets, and the olivecake with blueberries. Their menu sounds like it changes frequently so put this on your list to come back again and again.
