We stopped in here because the coffee shop we were planning to visit in Saugatuck had a line out the door. We got two iced... mochas and walked around the cute downtown area while we enjoyed them. The coffee was good, service was fast, staff was lovely, the ambience is darling, and there were outdoor seating areas as well. We were disappointed that there were no croissants, butthere were other options if your looking for something pastry/donut-esque. We would definitely visit again when we're in thearea. Read more

Amazing food. Friendly staff. Black coffee just ok but fancy coffee drinks sounded yummy and looked beautiful. Up charge for... non-dairy milk is a bit steep ($1.50). Read more

This is my favorite place to eat in Douglas. The lavender honey latte is the best I've ever had and I dream about the toast... flight. Incredible food and delightful staff! Read more

Respite is a great little coffee house with a very cool menu of designer toasts. Seems everyone does avacado toast these days... but they do so much more. Excellent coffee drinks and a welcoming place to hang out. Read more

I visited Respite for the first time a couple of weeks ago due to the great reviews and appealing food based off of the photos... on Google. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs ? an up charge. The avocado was very hard, barely edible, and the eggs wereboth raw and not on the toast. Then, I went back to show the waitress my food and ask if there was any way I could get a newmeal. They said it wasn?t their fault (whose fault is it?) because their avocado was in low stock and their microwave couldn?tproperly cook the eggs, thus, there was nothing they can do. Finally, they told me they could make two new eggs, I took it, butthey gave it to me in a paper cup and by that time I had lost my appetite to eat it. I would return for the coffee as that wasgood, but the service was very poor, the workers were rude, and the $15 price tag was not worth it. Read more

I absolutely hate to leave a 2-star review but this place has left me no choice. $27. For two coffees, a grilled cheese... sandwich, and a small cup of tomato soup. The grilled cheese, was hardly grilled. The bread had an extremely strong yeast smellto it. The soup was microwaved in the container it was served in. The microwave cause the tomato soup to lead a nasty ringaround the bowl. Both coffees were ill-prepared. Lukewarm, not made correctly. Read more

This place is so cute and is tucked right in the heart of Center Street in Douglas. Their specialty toast is fantastic. I have... never been disappointed by the food here. They use really fresh ingredients and offer unique combinations alongside traditionalstaples. Their honey lavender latte is delightful in the summer. Read more
