Date night Saturday brought my wife and I to Dover again. Much like a falling leaf, we decided to go where the wind took us. We... landed at Ember Wood Fired Grill in downtown at 1 Orchard St. We went upstairs to the second floor and grabbed a seat at thebar up there. Cheyenne was behind the bar and pulled double duty, a feat she accomplished effortlessly. After looking thingsover, my wife ordered a seltzer and I asked for the Bartender's Pick(Pic 1). This creation that Cheyenne made consisted ofbourbon, pomegranate juice, house-made vanilla ginger simple syrup, lemon juice and orange bitters. It was deliciously light andquite refreshing. At the same time, we also ordered the Harissa Brussels Sprouts(Pic 2). These were absolutely out of thisworld!!! Made with dukkah, pomegranate molasses and sorghum, they had so much flavor with just a little bit of a kick. For hermain course, my wife chose the Grilled Chicken Sandwich(Pic 3). This was made with a lemon thyme marinated chicken breast, mixedgreens, pepperoncini and goat cheese on an onion roll and served with fries. This was "The Best" chicken sandwich we've everhad(we because I had a few bites myself). The chicken was moist and tender and had been perfectly grilled. All the differentflavors complimented each other so well. For my Entrée, I chose the Short Rib Bolognese(Pic 4). As you would imagine, it wasmade with a braised beef short rib, house-made bolognese ragu and the Chef's daily selection of fresh pasta, which was pici(likespaghetti, but really fat). This dish was simply amazing!!! The flavor was bold with a nice, spicy bite. I could tell the pastawas made in-house. My wife even got in on the action and she loved it too. The wine in the picture was a selection Cheyenne toldme would be perfect. She was spot on. For dessert, my wife selected the Chocolate Stout Cake(Pic 5). This beautifully sumptuousdessert was drizzled with caramel, dusted with powdered sugar and accented by dollops of alternat Read more

The restaurant was clean and very nice. The food was fantastic. We tried the pork dumplings which were very good and the steak... with green peppercorn sauce which I would highly recommend. While all of this was top notch is was our waiter who made theexperience. Charlie was always near by for a quick refill. Highly recommended. Read more

My short rib Bolognese was great, but my partner felt the sides with her chicken were a bit under seasoned. For appetizers we... got wings and Tuscan dumplings. The dumplings again felt a bit bland and were swimming in a watery broken sauce. That might havebeen due to being a takeout dish with a slaw on the side of it. For dessert we had a caramel turtle cheesecake which was quitetasty. Read more
