I got 2 chix teriyaki bowls. They used about 1/4 cup chicken! Globs & globs of gooey sauce. Yuk! I also got a California roll.... The crab was like mash potatoes. No one ate it. Trash! I will NOT be back! Read more

Food is very good. I?ll definitely come again! Enjoyed the pot stickers, fire roll, and salmon plate. Some things to improve... are that the booths and the service speed. The seats aren?t sitting in their frames quite right and one of our party had towait a long time (more than 10 minutes) for her poke bowl and miso soup. Read more

Ordered a spicy crunch tempura roll. Did not disappoint. Can't wait to try the rest on the menu. Couldn't get the camera out... quick enough! Read more

First time ordering here, ordered noodles with beef plate and a side of CA rolls. The portion was small for one meal and paying... $30.00. Very pricey for the very small portions. Nothing like their picture. Overall food was good. Will I ever order from here, maybe not. Read more

I ordered for pick up 40 mins before closing. I ordered a combo plate and was told their side options were rice, miso soup and... salad I asked for one of each. When I arrived for pick up I was told they actually ran out of miso soup so if I wanted extrarice or salad. I asked if I could just get a discount since they didn?t tell me they ran out of Miso soup at time of order. Iwas told that wasn?t an option. Part of me wanted to just cancel the whole order, but I was starving and had other things onschedule so I just took it. Went home and I go three sides of rice???????????. They charged me extra for chicken breast(unrequested). Shrimp tempura was ok, but everything was cold. $23 for an order I wasn?t happy with. As someone who has workedcustomer service, #1 rule is do right by the customer; the goal is to have the customer come back multiple times not just thatone visit. I will not be going back. Read more

First time visiting this San Sai location. We've been going to San Sai in Pasadena for years and we love it! It's been our... favorite Japanese fast food spot. So we spotted this San Sai on Firestone Blvd. in Downey, and decided to check it out. JJ ranin and came out, saying "let's eat here." He said it looks likes the same menu as Pasadena, and the interior lookedinviting. We each ordered our go-to favorites. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bowl with the Sumi (cabbage) salad, and JJordered his usual Tempura Plate with the Sumi salad, and instead of the second salad, he orders Miso soup. Prices seemed a bithigher from what I remembered from Pasadena (although we haven't been there in awhile), but still reasonable. Service was goodand interior was clean and cheerful. We didn't have to wait too long for our order to be ready. Food was very good. Presentation was beautiful. My only comment about the food was that the steamed rice was slightly on the mushy side butpassable. Thoroughly enjoyed a nice dinner! Of interest was the fact that JJ rated his Tempura higher than the Pasadenalocation because he said that it absolutely did not affect his gastric reflux in a negative way, which wasexcellent! Recommended. Give it a try! Read more

Great food, highly recommended. Last time I was there it took forever to get my food but it was worth it.
