Ran in to escape the rain. Of course had to grab something while waiting. Had the buckeye ice cream sandwich. The ice cream... in it was very good. Cookie part left a bit to be desired. The flavor of it was "off" almost like it was stale and had arefrigerator taste to it even tho it was in a sealed bag. Would for sure go again but would probably opt for something else. Read more
We came here after a hike and the ice cream was fabulous! I got peach & cinnamon and my wife got coconut almond chip &... butterscotch toffee. It was the perfect end to a happy summer day. Jenni's can't compare. Johnson's has been making ice cream in Dublin for over 70 years and it shows. Not only do they have a... wide selection of flavors, but the quality of the product is top notch. Made with real fruit, chocolate, etc. Each flavor tastesauthentic. At the Dublin location, the workers greet you at the door and are very attentive. Not sure if this is an enterpriseexpectation, but they gave me enormous scoops which was a pleasant surprise. This location is just a short walk from Old Dublinand Bridge Park. Came unexpectedly after a late dinner on a Thursday night. I wasn't sure if they were still open since it was 15 minutes prior... to closing and there weren't any customers. I walked in and there were 2 young ladies working. I asked if they were still openand apologized when they said not for 15 more minutes. However, they were more than happy to explain the different ice creams,scoops allowed with each bowl size, and take my order without ever making me feel rushed. I explained I would sit down for afew minutes, but would be done before closing as I didn't want to be "that customer". They had outstanding customer serviceand were doing their closing duties without ever rushing me. I don't remember the exact ice cream names as was trying to orderquickly, but it was Buckeye something that contained Peanut Butter Ice cream and a Chocolate crisp something. They even went asfar as asking me which ice cream on bottom. These 2 young workers paid attention to every detail of customer service. I didn'tget their names, but they closed on Thursday 10/28. As far as the ice cream, both scoops were very silky, creamy, and veryfreshly made. They both had a mix of different flavors that went well together without being overwhelming. Overall, great icecream with great customer service. Had the feeling of a small, old-style personal ice cream shop. Enjoyed just sitting downand enjoying some good homemade ice cream. Fantastic Ice Cream in the heart of Historic Dublin. There are 2 outside seating areas (maybe for Covid restrictions and also... after it?s all over) to sit at with patio lighting along the side of the building. Plenty of flavors to choose from with evenmore that?s not in the display case. You can order to go, take out, or ahead...and the prices are very reasonable. That was a delicious ice cream. We had mint chocolate chip and blueberry pie. Both tasted wonderful. Definitely would recommend... Johnson's if you're in the area. Read more
