The pizza is awesome! The deep dish takes one hour, and is well worth the wait. Plan accordingly.
Daphne was exceptional. She sat my table of 35 with no problems and I watched her make it happen. She went beyond her duties and... went out of her way, too make sure me and my family were comfortable and relaxed. The deep dish pizza was delicious. The food is excellent. We headed downstairs for more cocktails & a live comedy show afterwards. This is a perfect date night.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner and the pizza was phenomenal. We had the deep dish Gino's Supreme...it was amazing. Our... waitress Kayla suggested the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were awesome! We also had the pleasure of chatting withthe owners! Great atmosphere, cool decor, we will be back...definitely need to hit this place up! Read more
As a Chicago transplant, I savored having a Gino's East in my adopted hometown of Dubuque. We struggled to get takeout at Gino's... since they opened months ago (completely understandable due to staffing shortages everywhere), and finally got to order takeoutsmoothly over the phone. The mozzarella and spinach sticks were the best we've ever had, however, both our thin-crust pizza anddeep-dish pizzas were completely overdone...very, very dark. I truly wanted to adore this food. I had to wait an extra 10minutes past the designated time to get my order--not a problem as I understand how kitchens/restaurants work. However, had theytaken the pizzas out of the oven before overcooking them I could having given the rave review I wanted to. In my time waitingfor my takeout order, the staff was supremely attentive and the ambiance and location of the restaurant is spot on. If thecooking times improve, this could be a much higher review. A group of 5 decided to give Gino's a try on Sunday evening. I called to be sure they were open & was told yes, but no servers... would be available. We showed up, had to wait to be seated, not because they were busy, but because the person at the frontdesk was on the phone. At the same time she was arguing with another person about seating us. Not a good way to begin a diningexperience! We finally were seated, placed a drink order & then a food order. Got drinks & an appetizer, then waited an hour& 15 mins for a small & two large pan pizzas to begin coming to the table. The first was good, the second 2 came out with burntcrusts. Of course, the flavor of the pizza was compromised because of that! I understand this is a new business venture, butthose of us who had experienced Gino's in Chicago were very disappointed! And I haven't even mentioned the prices which I feltwere high...our checks were almost $150! Read more
Ordered a deep dish pizza and some breadsticks as an appetizer. Pizza ended up taking almost 2 hours even after calling twice to... check on it. Some of the breadsticks felt bland and old. They must have forgotten on the pizza because it came out mildly burntand the ?deep? was disappointing. Willing to give another shot some other day. Read more
Fly in dipping sauce, appetizer (which was good) came before our drinks did. (Ordered at same time) bartenders fault as we... heard when our drink order was ready. Keep in mind this is for only 2 people. There were a total of approximately 8 customers atthis time of order. Ordered deep dish. It took over an hour which we were told it would take an hour but when the pizza came Ican only describe it as soupy/soggy. When we put the left overs in the box there was easily an 8th inch of grease at the bottom.Our server Cici was good for putting on a smile when she could read our faces. Read more
