A great date place. We had about a 30 minute wait on Saturday night but it was worth it. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and... the chicken was very juicy and the sides ranged from a baked potatoe to seasonal veggies. Our waitress was very nice anddespite it being busy, but we never felt forgotten. They do have outdoor seating which would be fun on a warm summers evening. Read more
We use to love sitting at the bar, ordering wine, Spicy Chicken and Avocado egg rolls, and the Char-Crusted Ahi Tuna, but after... the Covid the appetizer menu changed. Now it?s about the same as any other bar restaurant appetizers so we quit going there.Didn?t want to give a bad rating because the atmosphere is great, and I do enjoy those at other Houlihan?s locations, they justdon?t serve em? here anymore. Houlihan?s was fantastic! My wife and I live two hours away and wanted a road trip/dinner date location. After reading reviews... and had an idea of the place, we took the trip down and were not disappointed in the slightest! The atmosphere was lovely, thedrinks were great, and the food was fantastic. Our server was great, he was attentive and answered questions extremely well. Thesangria and black cherry mojitos were so good. We started with the Loaded Baked Potato soup and it was perfect. My wife got the12oz steak with fries and the seasonal vegetable, and I the full rack of ribs with the same sides. We were both thoroughlyimpressed with the quality of food and how quickly it was served. If you?re in Dubuque this is definitely the place to go forlunch or dinner. Thank you! Read more
This was my first time visiting. Been in the area for so long and not sure why I have t visited. ( possibly location) A group of... 5 was easily accommodated, indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Very nice patio section, lighting, and atmosphere. It'slarge, open, yet still intimate. Suitable for groups as well as a date. Fish and chips were what was recommended from word ofmouth and that's what I went with. Portions were more than generous. I would give houlihan's a five star rating hands down! We stopped here for a small bite to eat and a drink and left very happy... with full bellies. We tried the fried shrooms and chicken strips. We are in town for our niece?s event and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. We invited family out to eat by the hotel since it... was along day of traveling. We had a party of 7 that asked for a table at 8:20 and was told 30-40 minute wait, so we all sat atthe bar. We all ordered drinks and they were all a sugary mess. The bartender said she was 19 and had no idea what she wasdoing, the old fashioned was syrupy and red, even my beer was poured into a hot glass, so every drink was messed up. I attachedthe empty pictures because this was how the restaurant looked when we were finally seated. EMPTY! So why did we have to wait thefull 40 minutes to an hour for our table? The staff was unbelievably rude. Our waiter was Blake and I watched him snatch themenu from my mother-in-law?s hand. I would not recommend this restaurant. I usually try and only post good reviews but every nowand then I have such a terrible experience that they deserve the bad review. And there is a picture of the soggy wings weordered?. Read more
Danny our server was very friendly and attentive, unfortunately our meal was not as good as our service. My husband and I both... had the KC cut steak meal. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. My husband's baked potato was not donein the middle and none of our vegetables had any seasoning. We both grabbed the salt and pepper which we hardly ever do toseason everything on our plates. We were just disappointed. I was also very disappointed in the fact that they were unable toserve the lettuce wraps which were my main reason for picking Houlihans in the first place. Will be along time before we goback.
