We met Lidia at the Dubuque arboretum while she was picking plants for the homeade sauce. Had a nice conversation with her,... she's really nice person. She told us about her family restaurant and we decided to try it. A little on the expensive side, butWell worth it. The panzerotti was delicious, and the pizza bread is a must. Great staff and great drinks. We will eat thereagain next time we're in town. Read more
My family and I were in Dubuque to visit our daughter at college and wanted a fun place to eat. Mario?s doesn?t open until the... afternoon so I reluctantly sent an message via their website. Lydia contacted me and kept me in the loop through out the day onavailability and accommodating our party of 11. We arrived on time and were seated right away! The wait staff was very attentiveand friendly and our food was delicious!!! Lydia visited our table as well and introduced us all to her son. Our kids hit it offand we all enjoyed watching them interact while conversing with the staff. By the end of our visit we were all bursting at theseams! We laughed, we talked, and boy did we eat! With a parting hug from Lydia we said goodbye until next time. Now we havea new spot to eat and share with others!! Great job everyone at Mario?s can?t wait to visit again soon! Read more

Me and my wife stopped into town and looked at our options on Google and chose this place for the menu that it showed. When we... got there I asked the waitress about the items on the menu that we saw on Google and she told us that they don't have those andthat she can't control what people put on Google. I told her as a fellow business owner on Google I could show her how to changethat and make it so it's accurate. She got very upset and said she'll get the manager we waited another 30 minutes and thenleft. Was never even asked what we wanted to drink. Read more
I have had Italian food all around the world and am sorry to say that this was the worst food being called Italian that I have... had so far. We have been to third world countries that have better Italian food. I am a firm believer in do not yuck otherpeople's yum, in this case I'll make an exception, yuck. The catfish dinner? Be warned, that plate needs a coroner's casenumber. The lasagna was a disappointment with lackluster marinara and plain old hamburger meat. We had high hopes with some ofthe reviews that we have read, unfortunately for us it was a bust. Read more
Fantastic!! The pizza bread is sinfully delicious! If we ever get back here, we will be eating here again. It looks a bit iffy... on the outside, but it is quaint and clean on the inside. We loved it! Some people said the marinara sauce was too watery, butit had a lot of flavor. I usually skip over it because it is too sweet like lots of sugar has been added, but this I ate andliked! This restaurant is HIGHLY recommended! They gave us excellent service as well, they got very busy while we were decidingwhat to order, but it was no problem. Read more

I've been ordering from here for years and they have very good food but has been very inconsistent lately. We always order... calzones, which are usually the best calzones I have had. The 2nd to last time we ordered them they had only mozarella cheese,no ricotta. The last time we ordered them we joked around saying that we hope we get ricotta this time. Those calzones onlyhad ricotta and no mozarella. We were disappointed both times. It just doesn't taste as good when it isn't made correctly. I'm not sure if they have a different cook or short on ingredients or something else. I tried to contact them a few weeks agovia their website and no response. I just wanted them to know they have a issue with their cooking consistency. If the lastonly ricotta calzone was my first experience eating their food, I wouldn't be getting it again. Hopefully someone from therereads this and follows up with cooking staff. Read more
