Our experience at old Chicago was splendid. The wait staff was super helpful and the Hostess was very nice and explained the... different seating areas and brought us waters when we sat down and walked us though the menu as well. On a positive note, I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant and they have the nicest outside eating area with plenty of... seating and above the area, they have strung cafe lights! It would be the best place to relax outside, have a cold beer andenjoy a meal. On the more negative side, neither my husband nor myself enjoyed the pizza we got here, but we are biased. We useto love going to Old Chicago restaurants in Northern Colorado so my review is probably very tainted from someone who expectedthe pizza would be more like what we had in Colorado; what we didn't care for was the amount of sauce. The pizza was swimming(maybe 1/2 inch deep in sauce in many places on a slice) and it just wasn't for us. Food was really good, service on the other hand.. a bit slow. But don't let that stop you from stopping in. The pepperoni rolls... are phenomenal, and their pizza has a delicious crust and sauce (we went with the pan style crust). Nice bar/restaurantatmosphere. Worth stopping in. Read more
One of my friends got a free pizza because the chef screwed the order up (big bonus). My friend's grandpa got a pomegranate iced... tea he'd "caution anyone from ordering", but I thought it was pretty good when I tasted it. My calzone was fantastic. Nocomplaints from me. 5 stars! Read more
My husband and our out of town sisters-in-law went to Old Chicago for a late lunch. In the process of getting seated I had the... unfortunate incident of falling, out of no fault of the restaurant. I have to say a lot of the staff was there practicallybefore I landed helping me in any way they could. The manager Andy Blankenbaker immediately had a staff member from the kitchen,Samantha, who knew exactly how to get me back up on my feet. Between Andy and Samantha and the other staff I was back up on myfeet the easiest I ever have had. I want to thank the entire staff at Old Chicago for their caring manor in which they help thisold lady. Thank You !! Also, on a more important point of interest, I must say the food and drinks were excellent. Everythingwas done to perfection and would highly recommend everyone go there for a meal or two or three or more. We had a mixture ofappetizers, pizza, burgers and beer and tasted great. We are from out of state and went to a restaurant named Old Chicago to get an authentic Chicago style pizza but were very... disappointed to find out that they had modified their recipes. Our pizza was good but sadly just not the same or as good as atraditional Chicago style pizza.????. The name is VERY misleading! Read more
I drive from Madison WI to this Old Chicago. It's the closest to my house. I always count on my 2 favorite things, Italian... Nachos and the Little Big Cookie. The nachos were delicious, as usual. They were out of the Little Big Cookie, again!! This iswhy I dropped it a star. The service was great. My waitress was attentive but not annoyingly so. Everyone was friendly. Again,the nachos were excellent as usual. This would have been a 4 star but being out of the Little Big Cookie for my 3rd trip in arow, I just have to drop a star. Read more
