I love steak and shake food. The only problem is they are never open when they're supposed to be. I understand there is a staff... shortage but maybe adjusting your hours would be helpful. Ir at least teach your managers how to shut the lights off so peopledon't sit in the drive through thinking they're still open. Read more
Corporate really needs to look into this location. They are always claiming they are short staffed. Once you get to the window... they claim is a 30 minute wait before they can take your order. We stayed because they always do this and then within 5 min theycontinued to take our order. They don?t want customers so why are they even working? Running the clock? There?s plenty of peoplein there. Last night all the staff was outside fighting with people. Management needs to do better. It?s so dirty inside theynever clean the tables. Extremely happy. Haven't been in years till yesterday. Everyone was extremely friendly, polite, and the food was made fresh and... quick. In the past I remember food taking forever and not well made. Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it's because of the changing times, but this Steak n' Shake feels more like a fast food... restaurant than a regular restaurant nowadays, which isn't totally a bad thing - but it does make me feel conflicted. With thenew kiosk system and total removal of silverware and glassware, the magic and authenticity of the restaurant seems non-existent.Sure, it's a lot more convenient on everyone, but I do miss the smiling faces and feeling of a cold shake in glass, as opposedto bland styrofoam. Fortunately, it retains its flavor and remains to be one of my favorite spots for a good burger and fries,so no complaints there. Either way, it's a weird adjustment but I'm glad to come back - food tastes good and that's all thatmatters to me. Edit: So I came back on my cheat day after having an immense craving for Steak n' Shake all day and it lookslike most of my review is obsolete as a lot of my previous issues (as minor as they were) were non-existent during my visit.While it looks like the kiosk system is here to stay, I was still greeted by an extremely friendly man, whom I assume is themanager(?) who took great care to check on me while I was dining in. They even had glassware and silverware just like back in myhometown! :,-) They had already earned a customer with my last visit in flavor alone, but these improvements have definitelysolidified this place as someplace I can frequent. I normally love their food but the service is absolute garbage and what is worse, is that they get constant reviews of extremely... slow service and unfriendly employees and yet nothing is done about it. No apologies, no trying to make it better, nothing. Theymight as well just close down because as good and cheap as the food is normally, it?s supposed to be fast food. And the lastorder I got was wrong and poorly put together. Ordered a double steakburger and fries and got this sad excuse of a frisco melt.Was two tiny little patties smushed together on some sourdough drenched in sauce and one piece of cheese. Extremely greasy. Iget waiting a few extra minutes for a freshly made burger, but 30-45 minutes in a line with only a few cars? Could have gone toa sit down restaurant in that time, eaten the food and left before you get anything from here. Read more

The slowest fast food joint around. Always closed early before their closing time and can never seem to get the orders right.... Ordered a small side of fries and was given literally 10 fries lol. At least it gave us a good laugh. Read more
I set in drive through line at the ordering speaker for 20 minutes before I was greeted no hello we will be with you soon. They... want you to pull off. When you receive food fries are not even have the box it comes in . nothing you paid for. Worst serviceever. At least greet and keep your customers calm and happy. Read more
