First visit to Black Woods Bar and Grill. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Appetizer was the pretzels and beer cheese,... DELICIOUS!! Wife order the prime rib. It was dry and overcooked, she ordered medium-rare and it was more medium-medium well andflavorless. I ordered the bone in Ribeye. It had good flavor and juicy but was also overcooked. I ordered it medium and was moremedium-well. Pretty pricey but we knew that going in. Perhaps remember to order undercooked to your preference. For the pricepaid we weren't impressed. Read more
We are in town and this a recommended place. The wait was 30+ minutes so we chose to sit at the bar. My wife got a cosmopolitan.... She says it was good. We started out with the stuffed tots. These came out super hot. Once they cooled down they were amazing.The agate sauce was perfect. We also got the Thai chicken flatbread was good. If you’re going to hide scallions under thecheese please list it as an ingredient. We don’t like scallions so we were picking them off. Flavor was good just needed morepeanut sauce! We also got the meatloaf sandwich. We had high expectations because we love a good meatloaf. This too was okay.This needed thicker slices of meatloaf and more sauce. Extremely dry! Absolutely fantastic food, wonderful service, and a view of the lake! My family and I are here tonight on our most recent trip... to Duluth. Every single thing we ate was full of flavor and was absolutely delicious! What really blew me away, though, was thewonderful service and the kindness of the staff. I don't order walleye often, but we are close to Canada,it had to be really good. I was very disappointed. I'm not sure why but it wasn't easy to cut, usually fish is flaky andmoist. This was not.
