Reviews for Original Joe's in Duncan, BC
First of all, i believe in giving Google reviews, good or bad, as I believe people have a right to know. A group of us (5... adults and 3 children ranging from 2 to 7) stopped in at Original Joe's for dinner this past week. We were first told that ourwait for a table would be 20 minutes. We waited for 45 minutes to actually get a table. Then we were eventually seated at abar table when there were clearly lots of tables/booths available that would fit all 8 of us. We asked to be moved to a boothwhich was big enough to seat all of us. Once we were seated in the booth we waited for approx 30 minutes before anyone came totake our order. We finally complained and they tried to at least rush the kids' orders through because it was getting late. However they still took quite a long time even bringing these to the table. We eventually got our drink and dinner orders inbut waited for a long time to get our drinks. Still waiting for our meals, we waited to get the girl to come back to take oursecond drink order. We yet again complained, put in the drink order and waited to have the request filled. Finally, 3 of usgot our meals, while 2 did not. One meal was stone cold. The other two meals, that came out well after everyone else's werepacked up to take home because it was way too late for the kids (well past their bed times). The whole fiasco had us waitingfor 2.5 hours. The manager ended up taking over our table, and explained that they were short staffed, and there was a newbartender that was still learning, and there was a concert at the university so they didn't expect the swarm of people that showed up for dinner that night. After all was said and done, he took all of our meals off the bill and only charged for ourdrinks. On top of that, our group received a $50 gift certificate. I feel that they genuinely were caught off guard that nightand after all of the things that happened, they do want their customers be happy. Read more
The first time we tried this place, we were here for like 2 hours waiting on our food. Admittedly, it was really good when we... finally got it, and the staff did their best. The second time was amazing and everything was out at a reasonable time. I am soglad I gave them a second chance. Their buffalo chicken wrap is to die for, omg! It's so hard to find boneless wings in thisarea, especially wings as delicious as these. Their margaritas are the best, especially the frozen ones! ???? Their staff isfriendly and attentive and they bring you plenty of refills, which I appreciate. Oh and they have daily specials as well. Read more
Amazing food, and spectacular service. Jaden is a new server but she is the sweetest thing ever. She was so kind and helpful
Came with a group a few times. Shout out to the amazing job the servers and greeters do, as it is more often than not packed in... the restaurant with only 2-3 servers and 1-2 greeters. This makes the service much slower, but they definitely make it up withthe quality of their service. I just wish there would be more help for them. The food itself is not bad, it is pretty standardNorth American Caucasian style fare. A little on the pricier side, but their Tuesday Wings Special is great! Read more
Expensive vaguely upmarket burger joint. Reportedly well regarded, but skip it if you don't think of burgers as a meal out.... Service slightly on the slow side. Food quality appeared to be poor to middling (Wendy's say was better). Portion sizes small,especially by Canadian standards and given the cost. I wouldn't want to go there again, sorry. Read more
Very dark Very cold, had to wear my coat Server Rachel, seemed more interested in her friends sitting beside us... I know... covids been over a month and is now non-existent, but when your restaurant is empty, why are you sitting everyone beside/ on topof each other? Also I thought it was pricey, 20bucks for chicken strips!? Read more
Our visit on a Wednesday afternoon was great. The server was friendly. I would say considering our order was a burger and noodle... and the time it took was perhaps longer than expected. Reading some of the other reviews we had a good experience. The ownershould stop apologizing and fix the issues. Mostly it seems like late food and staff training. I would visit this locationagain.
