Perhaps Dunedin’s top restaurant, the Black Pearl will not disappoint. The prices are on the higher side for the area, but the... entrees come with a very tasty salad it’s worth the splurge. It’s a small place, so plan in advance and make a reservation.If you’re thinking about the lobster risotto, get the appetizer. It’s very rich and the smaller portion does the trick. We had an excellent meal from start to finish. The service is impeccable. We had the lobster risotto, the pork belly, filet... mignon, and rack of lamb. A small... intimate environment with about 10 tables, the pace was perfect and the ambiance cheerful. We had memorable dinner that was wellthought out and executed. Complimentary "dishes" between courses help achieve a seemless transition from beginning to end. Theassociates they employ are on top of everything throughout, not a missed step, professional and engaging. Everything we orderedwas absolutely brilliant. Amazing restaurant! Super tiny. Maybe 10 tables! Perfect for a romantic dinner. No big tables. Mostly couples. Super quiet,... refined, elegant, posh. Ridiculously good French food in one of the best settings ever. Three super efficient waiters! The foodof Chef Christopher and his sou chef is absolutely incredible. Delicious food and exceptional service make this little place in Dunedin a perfect option for celebrations. It's a little pricey... but well worth the money. Parking is not normally an issue with lots located close by. Just be aware of community events thatyou may need to take extra time for parking and getting to the restaurant. Read more
