Do you ask every patron ordering a tartare if they that’s it’s a raw dish… not only does it say in the item description I... thought this was fine dining…. Also the waiter insisted we place our whole order at once when I tried to order just theappetizer to come out first. I’m assuming this was because it was thirty mins before closing. If that was the case don’ttake our order at 830 when we were early for our 8pm reservation. He also seemed very upset we only wanted four cocktails (fortwo people)an appetizer and two orders of sushi. Read more
We came for dinner about 5pm. The atmosphere was dim, not too crowded or loud. Our service was awesome and attentive. Appetizer... was a corn chowder 7/10. My ribeye dinner was wonderful 10/10. My husband has a pork chop dinner 9/10. Dessert overall 8/10. Irecommend. Read more
We went to Elous to celebrate a birthday. The whole evening was exquisite from the drinks, the food, the service and the... ambience. We were led to our table which was was spread in just enough birthday confetti across the center. Taylor, our server,was phenomenal. She recommended the double bone pork chops for me. They were cooked perfectly. My dining partner enjoyed herbirthday dinner of vegetarian coconut curry as well. Three different flavors of sorbet were complimentary for a birthdaydessert. We ate at Eolus after a multi-week tour of Colorado and it was by far the best restaurant we found. The food, service, decor,... and drinks were all exceptional. The bread brought to the table was a particular standout as it had that hard to findEuropean-style crust that is both crusty and somewhat leathery. Merci au boulanger. I seldom order scallops at restaurantsbecause the portions are generally small. But since my wife ordered the veal shank I figured the scallops would be fine as I’dalso be eating half of a shank. When my dish was presented it had 5 perfectly seared large scallops that are my new referencestandard for a proper scallop. Simply excellent. And my wife and I both also loved the veal shank. Our party also ordered asushi roll, because “why not” and it was also wonderfully done. Yes, this is certainly one of the best restaurants inColorado and stands up well even when compared with the best of Denver or Breckinridge. Read more
We ended up at Eolus by chance because every other place we tried to get into required a long wait. What an amazingly... fortunate circumstance for us!! We were greeted by Eric, the host, and seated promptly. He was very nice and we felt instantlywelcomed. Our server Erin was equally pleasant and helpful in the beginning and throughout our dining experience. The foodat this restaurant is truly world class. The chef, Walker Benjamin is an absolute genius. Preparation, presentation andingredients were all 10 out of 10. I had seared halibut and my wife had a seafood stew. Both were out of this world delicious. Eric helped us chose a perfect Pinot Noir and we finished the night with a delicious creme Brule. The meal was 5 starMichelin caliber and we left there with that feeling that one rarely has....like a hole in one on the golf course. We ate a truly great meal with exceptional service from Ryan. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and excited to share the great... food and drinks. They also had amazing kids menu and made our family feel very welcome.My boys loved the beef tenderloin dinnerand chocolate ice cream dessert. This is a true gem in Durango and one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Thankyou to Ryan and the rest of the Eolus staff for a great night out. Read more
