Great food, friendly service with a smile. Salad was incredibly fresh, chicken fried steak was fork-tender and delicious. Kabob... wasn’t over-seasoned and veggies were a perfect accompaniment. Only subjective criticism I have is the fried okra would begreatly elevated if it was fresh and hand-breaded, frozen okra is kinda blah in my opinion. Still not enough to knock a star,I’ll just order a different side next time. Read more
This was the $16 fajita salad and had less than 2oz of sirloin, 2 halved tomatoes and slivers of red bell and avocado, this was... very disappointing. The Monte Cristo sandwich was extremely greasy like the grease wasn’t hot enough so the bread just soakedin the grease. Even the strawberry margaritas were disappointing. It wasn’t worth it at all. First time visiting Durant Oklahoma found this place to eat and was blown away at the taste of food. Very good!! Service was a... little slow but I just felt they weren't use to African American people but in the end I was very pleased with totality ofrestaurant. Read more
Great staff. Food is great for Durant. 4 stars because kitchen staff has a phobia of making chicken sandwiches after... 4pm. *edit* changing to 5 stars because owner has a good sense of humor. Ate here again tonight. Food was awesome per usual andDion is unparalleled. Included is a picture of a chicken sandwich I made with what I had on hand. This is clearly one of the favorite restaurants we’ve been to in Southeastern Oklahoma. My husband and I went there for the... first time this past weekend and we were so surprised. We rarely give a restaurant a five, but our food was really good and theservice was very good as well. My husband ordered the Center Cup Pork Chops and they looked so good. He said he would givethem a solid 4 1/2 or 5. He described them as moist, well-cooked with a great taste. His side was Mac and cheese ???? and hesaid it was a solid five. He said it was cheesy, creamy goodness! We both enjoyed our salads and were SO GLAD they didn’ttaste like wilted salad that came out of a bag, but like a nice, fresh salad. ???? Most of their dressings were homemade,including my husband’s Thousand Island and that was impressive. I would give my Ranch a four, but it was still really good. I got the red fish on saffron rice with cream crab sauce and I would give it a four (4.). I wasn’t particularly crazy aboutsaffron rice (but I think that’s a personal preference) and I thought the cream crab sauce was pretty scarce, I actually askedfor more. However, I brought about half of it home and after I put it in the refrigerator, the flavors seemed to come togethermore and it then tasted delicious. We were both impressed with the size of the mushrooms ???? and we give them about a 4 1/2. They were definitely filling and tasted freshly cooked. We were most impressed with the size of the Strawberry ???? Shortcake. Not only was it big enough for two people, but it really tasted good. We are not avid Strawberry ???? Decent selection of steaks, chicken and sandwiches. Live music on select nights and the weekends. Felt like an upscale bar... atmosphere to me, but everyone was really friendly, from the hostess to our waiter. Had the Garden Cavatappi with a Caesar salad- okay, but the taste was a little off and not what I expected for the typical flavors of this pasta and salad. I normally do not change the rating of my reviews. But the sincerity of the owner made me change my mind. While my steak may... have been overcooked, it was still very high quality meat. For the owner to offer me another steak on her, free of charge,really displays the overall dedication that she must have toward making the roadhouse a great business and culture. Here is myoriginal review: "This place was a bit disapointing for me. The steaks were pretty good quality but cooked way too much formedium rare. For a place that specializes in steak, they should have known better. It was medium at best and actually couldhave passed for medium well. The only reason why this place gets 4 stars is because the appatizers were pretty good,specifically the bacon wrapped peppers. The bacon had a bit of a smoked flavor and the peppers sort of absorbed that flavor. Wealso had the fried zuchinni which was okay. The baked potato was really good too from what I remember. The setting was nice andcharming as well. It was somewhat higher end, which makes it that much more dissipointing that they did not cook the steaksproperly. Overall, the overcooked steak was ultimately the dealbreaker. Everything else was pretty good albeit higher endprices" Read more
