Super happy to have started coming in! Food is great- but the service is definitely better than what we expected-phenomenal... tender of the bar, especially around here. Great spot, has a nice ambiance in the interior and sidewalk seating for nice weather. I've eaten here twice. The first time I... order pizza, The Red Eye and The Paulie, both were exceptional flat bread style pizzas. The second time I got the pork chop. Itwas amazing, perfectly tender, crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth at the same time. The owner is has been workingbehind the bar (where I sat) both times I've been, and he provides the best of service and is very friendly. Very convenientspot right down town, I'll be back again. Very quaint and comfortably decorated. Amazing Italian food! So happy to have found this place. Food was so flavorful. I had the... pan roasted chicken cacciatore and it was perfect! The chef uses EVOO and not butter, finally a place that doesn't drown thefood in butter. Also, a very cool wine list with wines from all over. They also have a lovely bar area. Had dinner there with family on Friday night. Food was delicious, seating was comfortable, but what made entire experience... amazing is service. I haven’t had such service for few years, since COVID started for sure. If you go there ask for Alexa!!!! Read more
On our way home from Portsmouth, we decided to stop at Ciao Trattoria in Durham,NH. What a gem! The atmosphere was casual, but... the food was truly amazing. In fact, being a true lover of Italian food, I have to say this was the best and most originalItalian dinner, we have ever experienced. We can’t wait to return, and will certainly share our experience withfriends. Another plus was the waitress who carefully and enthusiastically described all the food and wine we considered. Shewas so right on, we mistakingly thought she was one of the owners. Doug, the actual owner did greet us while we waited for ourdessert. Absolutely worth a trip to Ciao Trattori’s in Durham Center. Had one of the best dinners ever. Chicken cacciatore was amazing in the rib eye steak special that my husband had was out of... this world. The owner Kim was incredible and our waitress Emily was top notch. I will be sure to be a repeat customer when I'min the area again. Read more
What an amazing lucky find for us after our original choice not working out for us on our anniversary night. Our drinks (“Pain... Killer” - a rum coconut pineapple drink and the “Partly Claudia”) were delicious. The focaccia was what I’m alwayshoping for when I order it at other places. The grilled salmon was some of the best I’ve had - cooked perfectly and delicious,and the eggplant parm so flavorful. For dessert we had a delicious affogato with Frangelico and salted caramel gelato, and aplum crumble with a wonderful balance of flavors. Capped it off with one of their new drinks, the Boston Cream Pie: darkchocolate liqueur, Baileys, and lemoncello. Our server was fabulous, the food was good, however we were with 2 other couples and although it was only 9:30, (we didn't sit... down at a table till after 8) the manager was incredibly rude and told us we had to leave so the staff could drink at their bar.Our bill was over $600, and we all very taken back at the rudeness of the manager. We were simply finishing up dessert when herudely came over to tell us this. We had no intention of staying after dessert, but the way he approached us was notappropriate. They desperately need to consider new management. Ending the night on such a terrible note was horrible! Read more
