One of the absolute hidden gems of Durham. Amazingly good prices ($15 for a top-end entree as of April 2022); but service,... quality, and an attention from the staff worthy of a restaurant with 4x the prices. I’m always blown away when I come here, and it’s a small tragedy that this restaurant is hidden in an out-of-the-way spot; otherwise, I’m certain it would bedifficult to get a table on any evening. I highly recommend this amazing spot to anyone looking for a pleasant and deliciousmeal. Read more

Understated, beautifully decorated Indian restaurant in downtown Durham. The ???? ???? paneer was excellent and unusual - with... tasty bits of the mango skin. We liked the dosa, too. They were good about asking about spice levels. Read more

Amazing Indian cuisine in Durham. Everything was high quality and exceptionally seasoned. Samosa’s and coconut curry with... scallops were the winners tonight. Great date night vibe with exceptional service hawking around to ensure no one lacks foranything. Read more

Indian Monsoon welcomes with a good ambiance and host. We ordered chicken samosa, monsoon cauliflower, chicken kebab, lobster... pepper masala, chicken rogen josh. Monsoon cauliflower was little mushy but we enjoyed the unique fusion flavor of other dishes. For drinks we had ordered jal jeera margarita and GOC margarita which tasted ok. Extra points for their presentation Read more

The staff seemed inattentive. It took me a while to get seated because there was not a host ready. Once I did get seated, the... service was better. The cocktails were okay (not a lot of flavor but pretty!). The food was so tasty and the presentation wasamazing! Read more

All of the food we ordered had remarkable flavors and was so fresh! The monsoon cauliflower appetizer was my favorite and really... could have been a whole meal in itself. Don’t knock fries at an Indian restaurant before you try these because they were alsofantastic! For entrees I highly recommend the tikka masala and palak paneer (spinach / cheese). And don’t forget the naan :) Read more

Indian Monsoon offers some great Indian food in downtown Durham. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The coconut pumpkin... curry was delightful, if a little sweet. The spicy mango shrimp curry was also wonderful, but didn't have much spice despiteordering it extra spicy. The drinks are also wonderful, and I'd highly recommend the GOC margarita. With that said, the drinksare definitely light on alcohol, and I think could be prepared much more generously. Additionally, the cheapest entrees are $14and easily go above $20 if you order one with meat. Overall, Indian Monsoon has delicious food and drink, but doesn't quitejustify it's high prices, especially considering other Indian restaurants all over the Durham and Triangle area. Read more
