Everything about this restaurant is phenomenal. The cocktails, the small plates, and the sushi are absolutely next level. Sushi... is my partner’s favorite dinner meal so we’ve tried it all over the United States (looking at you Sugarfish) and M Sushi isstill our favorite. This chic urban eatery boasts an atmosphere and vibe that can be found in Tokyo but is located in the heart of Downtown Durham.... The exposed brick juxtaposed with the industrial kitchen bar creates a nuanced feel unique to M Sushi. A line of sushi chefshunched over their sushi mats making roll after delicious roll is quite a pre-dinner show. The main feast, however, comes whenthe sushi rolls are presented. Delivered and expertly explained by our server Emily, each roll was deftly prepared and was thestar of its own dish. The M Special is just that - special. It’s flavors are light with pops of saltiness from the fish roeand crunch from the micro greens. The Spider is adeptly named for its bite from the charred jalapeño nestled deep within therolls. An evening spent dining with good friends at M Sushi is truly what living in Durham is about. Finally took the drive to try out M Sushi. They definitely didn’t disappoint. The rolls were so fresh and truly delicious. ... So many flavors in each piece. The green salad with the dressing was equally delicious. So glad we made a reservation even forlunch (which we normally don’t). we arrived just as they opened the doors and there must’ve been at least 20+ people linedup to be seated. I am an avid sushi eater and M sushi is the only place I will eat raw fish, their MUST HAVE appetizer, Tuna crisps, just get it,... you won't be disappointed! M sushi roll, tuna special, and seared salmon roll are my FAVES! You can't even tell you are eatingraw fish! The combos just hit your pallet just right! Its amazing!! I haven't dived into sashimi, but if I ever did, this wouldbe the place I would try. For the quality of this place, the price is just right! Definitely a must try if you are a sushi loverlike me! This is a super nice place to eat sushi. Overall I love the quality and the presentation. Server was also very nice,... knowledgeable and accommodating. Unless you want Michelin star service, you won’t be disappointed. Miso soup which is verycommon tastes very ordinary!! I do not know anything similar in the area. This is one of a kind!! Read more
