This restaurant has incredible charm, ambience, history, and really good food in an Americana kind of way, thinks meat &... potatoes, and seafood. There is not a lot of pretense here, but is certainly a Duxbury crowd, which is pretty good. Therestaurant is filthy, top to bottom. I found months old pieces of meat and other food items under tables. Its hard to see if youare dining at night.. The restaurant has extremely poor sanitary practices, eg: chicken thawing in buckets on the floor, crosscontamination, waitstaff not washing hands, filing nails in kitchen, re-using bread & butter, from tables, eating from customersplates...just all in all gross people who you would never want to be around let alone handle your food. Bartenders?Terrible: They try to promote signature fresh made elevated cocktails, but in realty many of the signature drinks are pre-madein large batches , stored in huge plastic bins, are often Beyonce prime. All in all most people would find this place to bewonderful, sometimes I do also. In the end though it is a filthy gross place and I would not recommend. Read more

We had a very nice dining experience in this historic setting. I had the Grilled Cider Brined Pork Chop which I thought was... outstanding in flavor and composition. My wife had the Pan Seared Sea Scallops which she enjoyed but felt that the non-scalloppart of the meal was room temperature. The breads served were excellent and the drinks were okay. The young lady that served uswas beyond excellent in demeanor and service. Very much recommended. Read more

Slowly heading down hill. Used to be better - quality of food & service. "Island Creek" oysters are definitely not (second time... in so many visits that I knew instantly). Can tell from the shape of the shell and the depth. Never mind the taste. Also,steam-clean the place - top to bottom, including shampooing the carpets. The place reeks of old fish, mold, and grease. Iunderstand that covid did a number on all of us, but everyone here is just mailing it in or unqualified- especially the MOD.But, on the positive side, that can be said of every other restaurant in the area in the same price bracket (looking squarely atyou Solstice). We used to travel into Boston because there were no good alternatives. I guess we are back to that. Read more

My favorite restaurant in the area, never disappoints. There?s a pretty good variety of dishes to choose from, from... sophisticated entrees, to burgers and fish and chips. Meals are prepared at the moment, with good quality and fresh ingredients, which allows modifications and special requests. Even though vegetarian entrees aren?t on the menu, (but soups and sides are!)the chef will create a special dish for you if requested. The one in the picture was tonight?s dinner: a mix of grains, veggies, and nuts, accompanied by carrots cream. Read more
