I will start by saying it is pricey but SO WORTH IT! The staff is incredible from the hostess who helped bring meals and answer questions to the server who was attentive and we definetly had some good laughs with. The chef sent out a free amuse bouche that was a puff pastry filled with a goat cheese and onion mixture. But let me tell you the oysters! I have eaten oysters on the half shell pretty much my whole life and they were phenomenal the mignonette was everything I didn't know I was missing. Food was seasoned to perfection. I mean they don't even have salt and pepper on the table because it is not needed. Already planning to return and can't wait till the menu changes again.
This place was lovely, but expensive. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, though I did feel a little pressure to order an app, an entree, and a dessert. Some of the decor choices were... Interesting, but the overall atmosphere was nice. We mentioned it was a special occasion and the chef gave us a little amuse bouche free of charge. They do, however, charge $7 for bread and butter (though I gladly paid it--it was utterly delicious). Food was fantastic for all courses (ordered the gnocchi pictured below). Overall, would recommend!
We had a very nice dinner here on a recent Friday night. Entrées were excellent; creative and delicious. Service was exceptional, we had a party of 6 and the waitress was very accommodating. Atmosphere was nice inside with many original fine art works. We dined on the patio as the weather was suitable. The hors d'oeuvres were not up to the level of the rest of the experience though. The house made sorbet, was a nice finishing touch. Sidney is a gem hidden in rural Pennsylvania and well worth a stop if you are in the area.
Chef Neil could be in any restaurant in the world. The pork tenderloin special was extraordinary. The service was kind and gracious. The outside courtyard was almost vacant when we were eating there.
I can?t even? this place is truly remarkable. I?ve wanted to go for here for at least ten years. Being a local it?s always been on my list of places to get to but there?s never a shortage of restaurants to eat at. I finally made it here with my fiancé for dinner. We had a reservation and arrived very early. They sat us immediately which I was so grateful for. The service was out of this world. I wish I knew our server?s name. She was blonde and super friendly. That said, all the younger kids and hostesses/hosts who brought out food and cleared our table were just as professional and happy to be here. You can tell these folks love their job and are not just in the business of the food industry but the hospitality industry. It?s so wonderful to be waited on by people who enjoy where they?re at. At no point was anyone standing around. Everyone worked hard to ensure every table was cleared or had what they needed. We were seated on the tavern side. The music was wonderful and the drinks plentiful. I love little details like plenty of napkins and fresh flowers and candlelight-they hit all the marks and it makes all the difference to me. The flowers were gorgeous. I wanted to try a couple of drinks but my raspberry rose was so big I couldn?t find room for another. It was superb. My fiancé had the hard cider and he loved it. We then each got a complementary hummus ball and that was ok but the temp was cold which was probably intentional but I would?ve preferred it warm. We ordered a first course of Caesar salad and bread. Both were awesome. We loved all the breads. I couldn?t begin to rank them. It included a wheat, a sourdough and a cornbread. I wish it came with more butter because we split it. The sun dried tomato on the salad was a nice touch. I appreciated each course being brought out one at a time and not having multiple plates sitting on the table. Anywhere we go we order one course a time but here they wait for you to finish course one before two and so forth. It?s truly a dining experience, as any restaurant should be but that?s not the case most places these days. Our entree selection were the sirloin steaks with mushrooms. Both were cooked to perfection and the mushrooms were to die for. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and the marinade of the steak was divine. It almost tasted like it had cocoa in it but I?m not certain. Whatever it was, it was heavenly. I think the potatoes almost stole the show-they were layered and had a strip of bacon across the top-OMG. I think it was one of the best meals I ever ate. I rarely finish my plate but I scarfed it all down and so did my fiancé. Next up was the chocolate torte desert with the raspberry sorbet. I can?t describe how it melted in my mouth. I wanted to slap someone-it was that decadent. We split this and ended up ordering a second. We never, ever order a second of anything but I felt zero shame. If I died tomorrow I?d want this to be the last thing I ever ate
If you haven't been here, go! This is a world class menu in a quaint location. We've always had great service.
Delicious cocktails in a charming atmosphere. Amazing entrees. Friendly efficient service. Fresh flowers on the tables. We had a delightful evening. On this very hot summer night, it was a little warm in the dining room. It was also busy and a little noisy. Still, a great dining experience!
The food was amazing. I had the surf and turf special and the crab cake was one of the best I have had. My wife had the skate and thoroughly enjoyed it. Another in my party had the pork chop and raved! Additionally, we ordered the calamari which was prepared differently than I had ever had it and I would highly recommend it. The one drawback to evening was our server. I informed her about a nut allergy and she never took it seriously, waving off questions about whether something contained nuts saying a dessert didn't contain nuts even when it was specifically mentioned on the menu. She then delivered a free sample that actually had nuts which I had to catch myself. Dangerous!
