Very romantic and beautiful getaway in the Catskills of NY. Any issues with rooms I've had were fixed within a few hours. I go... here 3-4 times a year. The food and drinks in the Pub are amazing, and they accommodate well if there are any issues. Woulddefinitely recommend visiting here. Internet at the resort goes in and out, but usually only during late night. Read more
We stayat the Blackthorn for a week every summer.Our boy has Disabilities and is confined to a chair.The room,dining area,pool... and grounds were easily accessible. The staff and all other guest were polite and courteous.It was fun being around like-mindedPatriots Read more
This is not the Taj mahal. If your expectations are slightly above RV camping, you'll be fine here! Staff was friendly... although sometimes hard to find. Room was adequate as a place to sleep and wash up, nothing fancy at all. I will gladly attendanother weekend event here in the future. Read more
Poor maintenance practices our room had the cold faucet on the left and the hot on the right. We were in the two-story box... building and the upstairs smelled terrible. The laundry room was so filthy my wife couldn't use it. The dining room acousticswhen the room was full of 200 people produced a DB level of over 70 DB and conducive to conversation unless you were yelling.The food choices room in the morning they're start buffet was just okay. I like how there are lots of different things to do. It always feels like a safe environment. Haunted house in October is... spooktacular!!! Bar is friendly and the bartender is so amazing!! Their bar food is delicious too. Quesidillas to die for!! Read more
We went to a metal detecting event at Blackthorne for the very first time. The event was a lot of fun and the price could not... be beat. The owners and staff were all very kind and friendly. A great breakfast and dinner was included for the hunt days andit was quite excellent. We did not come away feeling like we ate unhealthy or greasy food... It was the kind of food we wouldmake at home, wholesome and good cuts of meat that were cooked perfectly. The pub downstairs had specials every night that werepretty amazing (we stayed additional days around the hunt.) The first night we had New York strip steak and it was a large pieceof steak, perfectly cooked and delicious and, you won't believe it, was $10 for the meal (see photo). The chef down there istop notch. We had a second meal in the pub on our last night and it was just as good. The room we had was not the mostup-to-date, far from it, but when you consider all you get for the price you pay for an extended weekend, it really is a treatthat we might not have been able to afford if this was some kind of fancy new shiny resort. The rooms were clean, comfortableand spacious. My only suggestion, for something that bothered me, was to have the outdoor areas a bit cleaner. We wanted to sitat the pool and on the lovely grounds at times, but most of the outdoor chairs and tabletops were quite dirty. It would havebeen nice if staff cleaned those before the weekend, or at least provided supplies nearby so that we could clean them ourselves.We had to pass on sitting down a few times (and no, we are not overly fussy) and ended up using our own camp chairs from ourcar. The campers that reside at the resort seasonally were so friendly and welcoming. They all spoke quite highly of the placeand obviously had my great camaraderie with each other. Great location, nice clean room that was bigger than expected. Lots of room to roam. Friendly staff, dinner was delicious (slept... through breakfast every time. Lol) Nice big pool with plenty of seating. I had a great time all weekend Read more
Went to the Halloween Vendors and Oddities Market today and wasted a 3 hour drive to have some rude lady at the front desk get... snippy with us because we didn't hear her from the back office while a bunch of commotion was going on where we were... Not tomention the Halloween Market was poorly organized no one to give wrist bands even though I had pre purchased my tickets and as aresult we were not allowed in to the main building and not one person on the grounds was able to tell us how to go about gettingthe wrist band.. rude employees poor event... 100% do not recommend.
