Was super excited to try this place out, as a client highly recommended it. They were out of a lot of items, including rice... which I thought was notably weird. We ordered the mushroom bruschetta as I love mushrooms! It was not good at all, I didn?t wantto swallow the first bite. Whatever they put on the top tasted like it was fresh out of a can. My husband ate it because he wasstarving. I got the spinach salad and added chicken. The chicken tasted rubbery like they heated it in a microwave fromsomething pre made. I ended up replacing it with steak and the salad was decent. Husband got the steak with mashed potatoes. He?s a picky steak eater, gave it a 4/10. Didn?t have any cocktails, maybe that saves this place. I wouldn?t come here fordinner again unfortunately. Read more

We have been going to Black Cat Bistro for years, but after our last experience, we will not be going back. First, we had a... reservation for 8 pm. However, the host informed us that our table was given to a group who walked in at 6:30 pm. Our group wasseated at the bar for almost an hour before we were sat. Following this, we were informed we had to order right away because thekitchen was closing. So our group attempted to order but half the food was ?out? but we obliged. After this, one of our groupmembers tried to order pretzel bites and cheese but was told the kitchen would not make this because they were ?out? of cheese.Once our food came out, we realized the level of care our table got. I ordered the Mac and cheese and it was served withspaghetti noodles. Another group member ordered tilapia and he couldn?t eat it because it was so tough. Three of the groupmembers ordered the petite steak and the steaks were either over or undercooked. All in all, the food and service was horribleand we won?t be back. Read more

The wait from ordering to food when food came out was almost an hour and if they would have been busy I could have understood... that. The sad thing was that the eggs were cold, the French toast was undercooked to the point my child could not eat it as canbe seen in the picture, there was no brulee with that French toast. I was really disappointed. I did not say anything because Idid not want to wait another hour for food. Waitress was nice though never refilled our waters nor offered an explanation whyfood took so long. Read more

A nicer spot for some decent food. Notably, we went during the summer months, outside the standard school year. It was very easy... to get in and the service was great. Their interior space is dark and calming while the exterior patio has some great outdoorseating. Our meals felt somewhat standard for the price, but they were delicious nonetheless. Read more

We've been to this bistro a couple times. We found the food to be of average quality but overpriced. It is not a restaurant we... would recommend people check out. While the menu may look interesting it's not doing anything special and you can get betterfood from a couple different restaurants in the area. On a couple positives, they have a nice patio and its in a good locationfor msu sports. The service was also quite good, but all this doesn't matter to my mind if the food isnt good. The bottom line:Their food isn't inedible it just is exactly how you think it'll taste at a couple bucks more then you think you should pay. Read more

Everything was good, the menu is diverse, but our French culette came out well done instead of medium like we ordered. It still... tasted good and wasn?t too tough so we still ate it but that was a little disappointing. Our waiter never came back to ask if wewere enjoying our food either. The mashed potatoes and the sauce it came with were divine. The appetizer (Brie and mushroombruschetta) was really good as well. The outdoor seating area was cozy and chic. Will give it another try but probably notbefore we try some other restaurants nearby first. Read more

One of the best restaurants in the greater Lansing area and it has a really nice outdoor dining area.

when you go in, don?t forget to ask for the house honey mustard. the chef has a line of his own sauces he made himself- and i... consider myself lucky to have asked for some with my fries. he even sells the sauces by mason jar- you seriously need to stopin for his sauces alone. my boyfriend and i are coming back to try more of his sauces, which will be on their BBQ wings as well.excited to try!!!
