Stopped in this little gem while traveling. Friendly staff, clean tables, and a cool vibe with the decor. Inside was a bit cool... (we had a toddler) so bring a long sleeve if you need. Or use the outdoor tables located at the back to enjoy nice weather. Thefood was delicious. Definitely get the Crunchy Shrimp roll and the Salmon Nigiri... They were ????. Excellent sushi! On the pricier side of a casual dine out experience but overall the taste and presentation was top tier.
Edit 6/22/22: Met my wife for happy hour as you get a slight discount on Maru's signature rolls. Andrew was our server and yet... again, another fantastic experience. Service was spot on and the sushi/sushi rolls were fantastic! A pleasant experiencecompared to Maru at the Okemos location. Our server Aarmond was spot on with his service. He suggestions when asked, was veryknowledgeable on the menu items, kept our water glasses topped off and checked on us throughout our dinning experience. Grantedit was late and not many people were there, however, the service and food was fantastic. We'll definitely be back especiallyafter realizing Maru has 25% off their signature rolls for happy hour. Oh.. small thing yet loved their real deal chop sticks.Not the typical wooden throwaways. Food was pricy, however portions were large and the sushi was fantastic, so I can’t really complain about price too much.... I’d say best sushi I have had thus far in lansing/east lansing area. I highly recommend the yellow tail nigiri. I willdefinitely go again. Read more
We miss Maru in Okemos, but we love the food and the staff so much that we were happy to follow them to East Lansing! We always... describe Maru to new people as Art Deco sushi - modern craftsmanship combined with fine craftsmanship and rich materials. Ifyou're a sushi fan, you need to go. Seriously. Read more
We went here for my birthday. The waitress had some great suggestions and even helped me to understand what some of the things... on the menu were. The food took a while to come but that is pretty normal now days because of short staffing. When we got readyto pay out bill the waitress came out with a piece of cheesecake for my birthday and even decorated the plate. It was a verynice surprise. Food was delicious and beautiful, and staff very friendly. I have already gone back twice. Read more
Hands down the best sushi place in Lansing. Great ambience, great sushi.. not to forget the dessert.
