Steak?nShake used to be my all time favorite treat. Last two times I?ve been through my order has not been right Call to let... them know and there?s nothing they can do about it ?.. what?s so hard of a plain steak burger no nothing on it ??? Just themeat and a bun how simple but not for this restaurant cook?. I love Steak ?n Shake but may not be back because of the screw ups and for the prices gesh. I live aways away and can?t just jump back into car to return something I shouldn?t have to in thefirst place? that?s what they wanted me to do it was on way home after long day so guess it?s goodbye to another good place?..sad Read more

Ordered a shake on my phone for pickup. Got there and they said that the machine was down, no refund, but to come back the next... day. We came the next day, told a lady about it and showed the receipt, and she said "give me 2 minutes." 15 minutes later,still no shake. I asked again, and she said, "you'll need to be patient. At this point, I told her we'd had waited a sufficientamount of time for one item." 5 more minutes and we got a 2/3 full shake, and no spoons. Just forks and straws. What on earthhas happened to this place? Zero interpersonal communication abilities, zero customer service. It's $5 for one specialtyshake...just go to Culvers and see the night and day difference across the board! This is a lack of management issue here. I love Steak n Shake. Today was the first time I thought about not going back! I got the Frisco melt and chili mac. There is no... server, you order at a kiosk, pay at the time of ordering and wait to have your name called. Waited for 25 min for food, therewere four tables besides us. Most of which already had their food. The frisco melt was good, but the chili mac was cold, likeright out of the fridge cold. We went up to the counter to ask for silverware, and waited and waited and did I forget to saywaited. They finally asked what we wanted , we told them and lo and behold we once again waited and waited before we finally gotsilverware. The people acted like they we doing us a favor setting our food on the counter and calling our name. Part of aserver's job is taking an order and bringing it to the table. I'm not getting paid to do part of their job!!!!! So needless tosay, I won't be going back. I rate them a LOW 2 stars and will not recommend it to family and friends. Read more

We got four meals with four shakes, payed for extra sauces and such, didn?t receive any and were told they couldn?t give them to... us without paying. One of the shakes came out as a completely different shake than any that were ordered. The other three alltasted horrible and while vaguely being the flavors ordered, all tasted strongly of butterfinger. The burgers were good. Thefries were cold and shriveled. The trays were dirty and likely not washed. The shake cups had been marked up by someone?sfingernail, one had the name ?Bailey? carved in the side, and another had hair stuck to it. All were sticky with the shakerunning down the sides. A manager got in a very loud, very aggressive argument with a customer which was a pretty horriblesituation to watch, it?s great to feel like an only child with parents in a screaming match when you go out for dinner. Thelobby was disgusting, the trash cans were overflowing, most of the tables were dirty, and the restrooms were sticky and smelledhorrible. I wish there were fewer stars to give. I will never be returning to any Steak and Shake in Peoria or otherwise, Istrongly encourage you to do the same. Read more

I went to the dining room since it reopened and it's basically a glorified cafeteria now. You enter your order in a kiosk and... wait for them to call your name to pick it up on a tray. The food is still decent but pretty much everything else I loved aboutit is gone. Even the seasoning salt unless you want to buy an entire bottle. I'd love to see the personality come back. All theyhave now is disposable dishes and condiment packets. Read more

Burger was great and came out quickly; but the shake took 25 minutes. I?m not sure how there is a long wait for the shake when... there is only one other person in the dining area and no one in the drive thru. Read more

Honestly, I wish they'd just close this one already so I don't feel like I should patronize it. When you actually receive the... food, it's good. But the service is miserable. We're 0/5 on spoons of the most recent chili orders and 2/5 for crackers. Don'twaste your money on a shake, as the bottom third and top third has consistently been whipped cream. Tonight's visit at Steak and Shake pretty much made me decide that I'm more than likely never going back here again. We pulled... up to the drive-thru at 8:04pm. and there were three cars in front of us. By the time we made it to the box to order it was8:27pm. Twice the girl told me to go ahead with my order and after I requested the first thing she told me to "hold on" bothtimes. I'm thinking maybe she had been a new employee or something because she kept stopping and asking the woman that she wasworking with questions. When we finally got our order placed we pulled up to the window at 8:43 p.m. it was the other lady thatour order taker kept asking questions. She went over the order and asked a few questions herself because our order wasn'tproperly taken. When we got home we opened the bag and realize that the barbecue sauce we had asked for was open and spilled allover the inside of the bag and inside the chicken strip box. We also notice that all of the fries were half full and they weresoggy and cold, the Patties on the burgers were so thin & small that it was pretty much just a bread sandwich and lettuce wasdark green wet and Soggy. It was probably the grossest meal I've ever had. I'm not usually one to call and complain but I thinkI'll be calling the manager in the morning. I'm disappointed that I had to write a negative review I enjoy doing these reviewson Google Maps and 99% percent of the time they are all positive feedback. I can't believe that I waited as long as I did andthat drive through I'm really not sure why I didn't leave to be honest. I'm sorry it had to end this way. Read more
