Reviews for Asian Ginger in East Rockaway, NY

I don't understand why there's always something missing in our take out bag. Of all the times we went there. Looks like no one's... checking before it goes out of that window. Not good. And the quantity of the food shrinked. I'm not going back hereanymore. -----This is my response to the owner----- My suggestion is only take orders that your shop can handle. Calculate thesupply for the day or week. Maybe you need to post reminders around the kitchen or take out window...To check and make sure thateverything is inside the bag for that particular order. There's no harm in training the staff again. I hope that helps. Goodluck! Read more

Extremely gross and isn't clean plus they don't use gloves to handle food. Would not recommend.

Must be new owners, my favorite egg drop soup was mostly broth, my fried shrimp was half the size and fried too long.The... normally tasty wonton soup lacked green onion and the broth had no body to it. Very disappointed! Used to be my go to chineserestaurant in east rockaway. Read more

When my go to Chinese restaurant in Lynbrook closed, I thought I would never find quality Chinese food again. Then I tried Asian... Ginger. It beat the food in my old restaurant hands down. As long as Asian Ginger stays in business, they have a customer forlife. Read more

Typical take-out join. Nothing new taste-wise, but good prices and quantities. After sampling several of their offerings --... which, of course, tasted the same as any other Chinese take-out joint (basically like how all burger joints are really the same)-- I've now settled on only getting the Shrimp with Broccoli...substituting the stock sauce with curry. Pro tip: the curry usedat these kinds of places comes straight from some prepackaged off-the-shelf affair; IOW, it ain't something they make themselves-- thus guaranteeing a modicum of taste (if you enjoy curry). Everything else is the typical cornstarch-heavy goo of soy sauce, sugar, salt, and mild pepper. The Shrimp and Broccoli dish here is good because they use real jumbo shrimp -- five, to be exact-- and the fried rice has an okay amount of pork and even some diced onion bits. Finally, the lady is really friendly; it's thetypical family business but they are a whole lot friendlier here than in the big city (then again, the customers here arerespectful and there's no need for bulletproof glass as is the case with many a ghetto location). Great little family runs this place. The lady who waited on me was very helpful and easygoing. The food is your typical Chinese... take-out food. The chicken was the best quality, but it wasn't horrible. I had the chicken and broccoli, and, chicken noodlesoup. Again, it was ok. My only argument with take-out places is...drum roll...surprise me. Have killer delicious meats, marinate, do something different and add tons of character with little effort. That being said, this place was fine and Ienjoyed my meal. Read more
