Great people but this is the last time I ever come here.. here and there the food is burnt which happens. But this time all my... tacos were fried to crisp. Black as charcoal and hard as rocks. Puerta Mexicana is consistently delicious, both dine in and takeout, its our go to spot! The service is fantastic and the food... and drinks are just awesome. We get the grilled chicken platter for my toddlers to split and they even cut up the chicken beforethey serve it, and as any parent knows, not having to cut your hungry toddler's food on a crowded restaurant table is a massivehelp. Puerta Mexicana is a tiny but super cute neighborhood joint with a friendly staff, fair prices and good portions. Most... importantly I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FOOD!!! I usually order pretty much once a week and they are hands down the BEST restaurant inEast Rockaway and make some of the best Mexican food on Long Island. My go to items are the chorizo quesadilla, chicken, pork,chorizo or mushroom tacos, enchiladas mole, and the tostadas. First time to eat in this Mexican restaurant. I should say this is the most clean and nice I've been. The decoration is colorful... and inviting. The vibes is very calm, peaceful and romantic. The food is delicious. We order tacos, chicken bowl, tostadas,sopes and elote all flavorful. For drinks we got Horchata & Tamarindo its not too sweet its refreshing. For dessert we got Tresleches which I don't usually order coz most places have it too sweet but this place just put it together just right. The staffsare friendly and they have parking outside. The food here is awesome. I first was introduced to this place by my friend when he ordered doordash then i kept thinking about... it again and less than 2 weeks later I drove to the location and come to find out. I pass by it regularly when I go to costco inoceanside. Birra tacos is probably better to have there or picked up instead of waiting on a delivery. The burrito's ricecould've been a bit better but the stand out was the churros and the chicken quesidalls i needed that again flavors and qualitywere excellent. When i went to the location and ordered my food the staff was friendly. And not only did i get a chickenquesidalls & churros. I tried one the potato & churizo taco and that is a must get. Those 3 items alone and wanting to try morefrom the menu makes me want to introduce this place to so many others for pretty dam good mexican food that's not too far away.Now I have to see if i can get my meat based tacos on flour tortillas instead of corn(as good as the corn tortillas are) I'mcurious to customize a bit.
