Got home from work and was in the mood for something quick and filling, great option. Will be ordering again. Some people have... commented about pricing but it is what it is, the same everywhere. The salmon and the veggies seemed fresh and good. Read more

First time here and I did like it. I'll update my rating once I go back and order some sushi. I had Ramen and I did like it but... I need to order others things to properly rate it. Went a Sunday night around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. Had a party of 7 andgot seated right away. Started to get busier around 7. The service was good but felt a little rushed to order. Not a big deal,we'll see how it is next time. Waitress was nice and our order came out quickly. Read more

Drinks were ok but sushi was delicious. We got the lava, Boston and NY roll. So good! And service and ambiance was great. My... only critique is that the roll counts were off ( Boston should have 6 pieces, I got 5) and our specialty rolls were not tightlyrolled and fell apart easily. The technique did not resemble that of a true sushi chef. Read more

I have only been here one time and I only had the omakase and a cocktail, so I cannot speak on anything other than their omakase... in good-faith. If you have been to any upscale omakase experiences (like those you may find in New York or in Japan) you willfind that the omakase here is not exactly what you would expect. This place is no Sushi Nakazawa, Ginza Onodera, or anything inthat category of omakase offerings. However, I want to preface that this omakase really isn't meant for diners who havedeveloped a taste for those kids of experiences. Whatever complaints I can make about the omakase and the serving methods ofthe establishments are completely nullified by the fact that I had a tasty, creative experience containing a wide variety ofquality ingredients for just $75. So while I wouldn't say this is the definitive omakase you go to, to be able to get such asample platter of some otherwise expensive ingredients, it is a super bang for your buck. I was able to have multiple cuts ofbluefin tuna, king salmon, Hokkaido hotate (scallops), Hokkaido uni (sea urchin), and real wasabi root for just $75. This is avalue that is extremely difficult to find. On a date, 2 people would only come out to be $150, which is the price per-person atSushi Nakazawa 8 years ago. This is an omakase I could recommend on a semi-regular basis or just for a casual night out whereyou want great variety. If you consider yourself a sushi enthusiast, perhaps try one of the much more upscale locations on somemore special occasions. PS: This establishment is also actually operated by Japanese people, which is always appreciated. Read more

I thoroughly enjoy the food here whenever I go but there are too many factors that won’t let me give a 5 star. For one, the... prices are just really high. I know that sushi is more expensive now but they are just too much for the portion sizes. Secondly, the waiters are always nice but the service isn’t always so good. Once had to wait about 45 minutes to have 3 rolls served, and the first time I went there the hostess scolded me because I didn’t make a reservation when there were about 2 or 3parties seated in the entire place. I just think they tried to make a typical sushi restaurant far too fancy. The decor isbeautiful regardless though. Aside from all of that I’ve never had a bad experience with the food and the sushi is alwaysfresh and flavorful. Just wish there were more menu options Read more

Excellent food, Jean was a lovely waitress but the recent switch from BYOB to liquor license was adding stress to her night.... They need an enhanced wine list to go with their delicious food or a corkage fee Read more

It is rare to find authentic Japanese restaurants owned and run by Japanese in New Jersey, and this is one of the rare genuine... Japanese restaurants. It was the first time I visited with my family, and my wife, Japanese, was pleased with all dishes infront of her. Although it is privy, I highly recommend having sashimi and sushi (raw sliced fish flesh and sushi) set.Temperature, size, and thickness are crucial for sashimi, and the sashimi in the set was perfect. All flesh melted down on mytongue. Gosh, it was the heaven of Japanese cuisine! Also, although there are only three choices in ramen, you must have onetoo. Donkotsu (sliced pork in pork bone soup) was excellent, and salmon in miso seafood ramen was soft and fresh. Once in awhile, if you want to have an authentic Japanese dish, this is one of the places in NJ you must stop by. Also, there is aspacious parking lot behind the restaurant, and you can also park on the roadside. Read more
