We really enjoyed our experience at Tapas & Cucina. The staff at this establishment was so warm and friendly! However, I'm not... sure if this has to do with the fact we went on a Thursday night rather than on a weekend, but some of what we ordered was notgreat and did not taste fresh. We ordered eggplant rollatini, pane di casa, rice balls, patata bravas, and calamari. Theeggplant tasted a bit sour as if it had been sitting there for a while and the bread was overly toasted and stale. The riceballs and calamari were not bad. The potatoes were delicious! The atmosphere was cozy and staff was inviting, but I would hopefor more consistency in the food. Read more
Amazing food! Friendly wait staff. We did the tapas and it was very filling. The octopus and calamari were cooked to... perfection. Definitely more visits in the future to try the rest of the menu. Place is small so call for reservation. We havebeen back several times since this first review ... Gets better each time. Tonight's special the veal chop pic included - madeto perfection! The host/waiter/bartender - Joe - He's awesome. The chef is tip notch. If you want to try a variety of dishes -come here. Our favorites: The dates, zucchini Flowers, fried octopus. This place get better with every visit. This visitstarted with an announcement of tripe as a special appetizer - BEST EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT! The chef out does himself witheach visit. Once again we are so grateful to the staff and owner for making us family. We brought new friends with us and theywere blown away by the flavors and variety of tapas options. First visit to this restaurant. I've passed it multiple times but never actually went in. It was mid-afternoon and I was the... only person in the restaurant. Apparently, it's hard to make a reservation in the evenings, so there are definitely times thatare much busier. I ordered the datiles (bacon wrapped dates appetizer) and the beets arugula salad. Both were very good. I wouldhave preferred a little bit more beets and walnuts and a little less feta cheese in my salad, but it was very good. A definitemust-see. The decor is rustic and approachable. I strongly recommend the food, even though I've only ever eaten there once, butthe quality is more than likely even across the board, considering the quality of what I ordered.
