My husband and I came to Halifax for a weekend this last October. We stayed in Fisherman's Cove, and were very excited to see... Boondocks so close by. The Establishment itself is very warm and inviting, with lots of photo opportunities and even small knickknacks and gifts to be purchased for loved ones back home. The food was so so good. We ended up going twice. The first time, Iordered the fish and chips, and it was hands down, some of the best I've ever had. Crisp and fresh, flavorful. The tartar saucewas so good and the french fries were unreal. My husband got the fish tacos. They looked amazing but he scarfed them down beforeI got to have a bite. The second time we went, I was so enthralled by the fish and chips, I ordered them again, and again, I wasblown away. My husband opted for the clubhouse and said it was the best he's ever had. It was the first restaurant we dined atwhen arriving to Halifax and I'm so glad that we were able to try it. We absolutely look forward to coming back the next time weventure out this way. The only downfall is that they close fairly early, I think it was 8:00 or something like that. Would haveloved to be able to come back from a night on the town in Halifax and have a third round of fish and chips, haha! We willabsolutely be back! Read more

We had a wonderful experience. We had company from Ontario and wanted to be by the water and good seafood. I had the fish tacos... (pic) and the fish n chips were enjoyed. Our server was great. I would definitely go back. Read more

I found this to be a laid back casual place to eat with a nice atmosphere and fun decor. We stopped in after hearing a friend... talk about it. We stopped in for lunch a bit after they opened so there was no wait. There was a sign outside that warns you ofa wait during busy times. Not sure why people complain about that, not too sure what they expect if a restaurant is busy. Thefood was good, I had the Mediterranean salad with shrimp and found it to be a nice size and enjoyed it. Two others tried theirdifferent macaroni, they said it was okay but nothing special. My husband had the chowder and poutine which he was happy with. Itried a bite of the chowder and it was really good, almost wished I had a bowl myself. Waitress was nice and attentive. Overallit was a nice lunch. Read more

Decided to grab a local catch (shrimp, scallops haddock) and seafood linguini. The local catch was a fair portion but for me was... a little bit light but I guess does offer room for desert. Everything was perfect about the meal itself and the outdoor patio ismassive. The Wife had seafood linguini (easy shareable portion size) and she thought the baby clams were a nice touch to theseafood medley. Off to walk the nearby boardwalk and shops nearby after dinner for a romantic evening. Read more

Staying in the Eastern Passage and stopped in for a casual dinner. They had great decor and our server did his best but we were... disappointed in the food. Before we sat down we were warned of a 45 minute wait for food (appreciated the heads up) We wantedmussels but they were out so we ordered bacon wrapped scallops - they were $18 and seriously overcooked and super disappointing. My husband ordered the lobster roll which was soo tiny and I got the lobster mac and cheese. Not sure what kind of meat they hadin there but it was not lobster.. it was our first dinner in the city and I wish we had chosen elsewhere. Read more

June 14 2:00pm The front staff was really nice and welcoming There was a server who wasnt so happy to be there, i hope she's... okay. Fish & chips - the fish is greasy and soggy, chips are fine Calamari & chips - calamari is chewy/rubbery Blacked fish &tomato soup - was GREAT! Chicken strips & chips - the kid said it was good! Tables were way to sticky, we wiped ours with morethan 12 wet wipes and they were still dirty and sticky. The girl who doesnt look so happy to be there was wiping the tables withwhat looks like soapy water and an old rag. The floor was also sticky. The duck hunt is fun! Read more

The view is excellent and the location right at a working Harbour in Eastern Passage is a rare combination. It is also part of a... group of shops that further enhances the experience. The outside patio has wind protección. The food quality is very good. Inmy opinion it is a good spot to put on your list. Read more
