I’ve waited far too long to write a review for one the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. My husband and I dined here in... August after they had been open for only about 2 months. Monti provided the best customer service I’ve had at a diningestablishment - before we even arrived. We were visiting Orcas Island for the first time and our ferry was running 2 hours late.I contacted the restaurant by email and they communicated back and forth, not only assuring me that they would find a spot forus despite having full reservations for the remainder of the evening, but also giving me driving/walking/parking directions, solidarity in assuring me that late ferries are a rite of passage, and a personal phone number to text if needed. The wonderfulservice continued when we finally arrived.\nThe food was perfect! From the most delicious bread to al dente pasta made in-houseand the best caramel-butterscotch pudding on the planet. They also perfected the ambiance and setting. Sitting on the patio, Icould have convinced myself we were actually in Italy.\nTo top it all off, as we were leaving, the owners came out to chat withus about the island, their restaurant, and recommendations for other great food on the island (although my husband and I bothagree Monti was the best we had during our trip). We were sent on our way with waves and smiles and dreams of returning to thisspecial gem. Thank you, Monti! I hope we see you again some day. Read more

Amazing new gem on Orcas. Beautiful atmosphere. Lovely wait staff (Grace) was so helpful. Wish I had more time to spend there... and enjoy. My quick meal was very memorable. Crisp white wine, radish salad and mussels that were cooked to perfection. Thehomemade bread. The music. It was all magical. Read more

The food was nice, good portions, but it was obvious no one had responsibility for us. We had a long wait until some one came to... take our order, and after 1 hour 25min from our arrival and seating, I had to ask where our food was. I saw numerous tables getseated and served, several take out orders come and go. They scrambled when they realized they had not gotten or missed ourorder and comped us two glasses of wine, but an apology for their mistake would have gone much farther. All that said, we willgive them another try…. Read more

Absolutely stellar experience at Monti while visiting Orcas Island 7/30. Hostess and wait staff were extremely accommodating... while we were on the wait list and once we were seated. Food and ambience we\'re on point as well, we will definitely returnnext time we are in the area!\n\nNote that when we visited the city was repaving the main street outside; there was plenty ofparking on the side street directly to the north of the restaurant. We had a delicious dinner at Monti. It is a little hard to access right now because Prune Alley is closed but it\'s worth the... extra effort. Our favorite dishes were two appetizers, the Waygu meatball and Octopus with potatoes, cooked in duck fat. Sogood! Read more

We had a lovely meal at Monti. Everything from the wine to dessert was delicious. Some highlights were the short rib ragu (that... sauce is to die for, perfectly Roman and nostalgic for fresh Italian dishes), the octopus appetizer (rustic, simple in flavorbut perfectly cooked), and the tiramisu (some of the best if not the best I’ve had). At the end, we made a special request andthe server was able to accommodate—so thank you! The hospitality really shines through. Modern but not cold, intimate whilenot overly-so, the interior is an inviting and comfortable space for all. We went on the third day, and if it’s THAT good now,it’ll be talked about by many on and off the island soon enough. Thank you Monti staff! Read more

Wonderful experience. Staff was helpful and friendly, while giving us space to enjoy our meal. The environment was a balance of... busy and intimate. The food was fantastic! There were lots of yummy options. The dishes were thoughtfully and skillfullyprepared. We were there on their 3rd day of opening and it felt like they had been a staple on this island for years. Monti, a new Italian bakery and deli, and soon to also be a restaurant in Eastsound. Access is temporarily a challenge due to... improvements in process to Prune Alley, but well worth the effort. Pastas, fresh baked goods, wine and more to come. Read more
